Welcome back for year number two, the 2009-10 season!

Bill Laimbeer took the honours in year 1 and will be back to defend his annual title.

I've been busy setting up the league which is now available for you to log in and check out.

I've sent you all an email with more information about making sure your 3 keepers are selected and to help choose a draft date and time. As you know, this season will be a Live snake draft based on last seasons finishing order (after playoffs).

The draft order and the picks for each team have been posted on the league home page. You may begin trading these and your players should you wish.

If you are not in the league and are interested in joining or following the league please PM me. The league has been created for long-time and regular forum members, but we are open to expansion (has only 10 teams currently).

Feel free to put your name forward for consideration by the current league members (PM me - please don't post in this thread).

    Thanks. More info to come.

The draft will be interesting considering the keepers.

Bengo or Horford. Tough call for me.

I was logged in under another username, so that link wasn't showing. Thanks, Slippy!

Would it be possible to move the Keeper selection date up? It should not take long for people to select three of their players.

It would be nice to have a little more time before the draft to know which players will be available.

Yep, that shouldn't be a problem. There are only two teams left to make their choices.

I will look at moving back a week.

Keeper selection cut-off has been moved forward a week to Oct 12 @ 5pm.

Only Warthog and Max have not selected their keepers yet.

Everyone else - you still have this time to amend your picks if you like.

You currently have 3 players selected Linwood. Maybe you chose them in advance last season? You can still change them.

    Some New Features:

    WHAT'S NEW FOR 2010?
New live draft app: For both Snake and Auction drafts! The new flash-based app has improved displays, expanded stats and more stability. (Commish Note: Haven't tested yet)
Watch lists: The most requested feature in our feedback forums. You now have the ability to track, or "watch", players not on your own team. (Commish Note: About time!!)
Charts in player cards: (Coming Soon) This new tab gives you graphical representation of a player performance over the course of the season. (Commish Note: Haven't seen yet)
H2H Acquisition Limits: This season the system enforces a maximum number of acquisitions allowed per head-to-head matchup. (Commish Note: This helps stop 'Tatering'. Won't apply to our league as we are a Weekly league anyway)

Also for those who may not be able to make the Live draft:
    AUTOPICK STRATEGY
New to Fantasy Basketball is the ability to specify which position the system will draft each round of the draft. The link for editing your draft strategy can be found on your pre-season My Team page before the draft begins by clicking on the "Edit Auto-Pick Strategy" link. On the edit page each round of the draft is presented with a pulldown menu to select which position you want to draft during it. The default setting for all rounds is always "Best Available", which means the system will draft the highest remaining player from any position. If you change this to a particular position - ie "Center" - the system will draft the highest available player from that particular position.

On the page you are also presented with the option to set how many players at each position the system will draft for your team. Simply set the minimum and maximum number of players you want the system to draft for each position. For example, if you only want the system to draft two (2) Centers for your team, set both the Min. and Max. value here to "2".

You can edit your draft strategy as often as you like until one hour before your scheduled draft time.

    Go for it!

Draft picks can also be traded. Just remember that if you trade for a player they will automatically become one of your 3 Keepers.

The exact rules are on the League message board.

Anyone want Andre Iguodala (currently ranked 15th best player) for their first round draft pick?

Just to clarify what I am offering. After everyone selects their keepers, the top 30 players (more or less) will be gone. The first round of our draft will select the 31st through 40th best players. I am offering Andre Iguodala (top 15 player) for a 31-40 draft choice. Anyone interested?

    Iguodala's 2010 projected stats:

    19.3 pts, 5.6 reb, 5.1 ass, 1.9 stl, 0.5 blk, 73.7% FT, 46.0% FG, 2.8 TO

I guess it all depends on whether people think Iguodala will be any better than their current 3 Keepers (he will replace one of them). I'm considering your offer. I remember Iguodala and Brand having problems meshing at the start of last season but then Brand got hurt again and it was all good.

That said, with no Andre Miller and no real PG, I'm expecting Iguodala's assists to go up to around 6. He already averaged over 5 last season.

I need to draft well because my Keepers are looking weak compared to others. Yao is done and B.Diddy is a risk to keep. I was expecting to retain those two.

I'm keeping a SF, PF and C. I don't think I can improve much on my keepers. Right combo of production, youth and upside.
