Good to see Slippy and others back and generating some discussion in this league. It was flagging a little last season.

I hate to make excuses, but I missed the draft last year. Otherwise, I'd be going for a three-peat right now. I'll have to settle for 2 out of the first 3 championships....

This is season 4. You've lost 2 years in a row.

We're playing fantasy basketball, not fantasy island.

Yeah I was playing DDO Online.

The weekly format threw me off and I never got into it. But I found a happy medium. Plus I got promoted last year and was busy and this year, I don't care. I have a problem with guys too long. Bill and ros are way more agile with their roster.

As a GM, I think long term.

Right now, my matchup with Rascoe is neck and neck. All week, we've been a few assists, steals, or threes apart, with our percentages on the razor's edge.

    Right now, my FG% is .4899 to Rascoe's .4821 ... less than 1% difference.

I have a shot of making the top 4 but my key starters are failing. Stephen Jackson and Kevin Martin need to find themselves.

They also both need to figure out what they did to annoy their coaches and not do that.

I'm going to address the elephant in the room.

It looks like bballjay and wart are taking the season off. I know someone like BDL would love to play in Keeper. There are probably other people who would like to get in too.

Are we willing to entertain the league stepping in to rescue abandoned franchises and find new ownership?

I think this may be a viable option. My main concern is whether or not Denver has the funding for a new arena. I know that the Squirrels current arena is not up to Keeper League standards, and I'm concerned that an outdated arena may require the league to move the team again in a few years.

Six Hard Fouls Announce New Publicity Campaign
    Team to Embrace Socal Media
Seattle, WA, Feb 19th, 2012. Despite having a record that places them at the top of the Keeper League, the Six Hard Fouls have had difficulties generating fan excitement. In an effort to address this problem, the team has announced the hiring of former NBA player Charlie Villanueva as head of the New Media and Public Relations department. A statement released by General Manager Linwood pointed to the young players familiarity with social media and youth culture as the primary reason for the new hire. From the statement: "In today's fast paced world, the Casual Internet Fan finds it difficult to read feature length articles. We feel that that short updates from a former professional is the new way to reach out to fans. Charlie Tweets is not only adept at using the new technology; he also brings a unique perspective on reporting, having watched literally hundreds of games from court side."
When asked if his new job as head of New Media and Public relations would interfere with his job as Detroit Pistons inspirational leader, Charlie replied: "Somtimes you just have to trust in God and count your blessings. Stay strong, and don't forget who you are." Upon hearing the news, Six Hard Fouls center replied "Huh?"

Good call. If you have made it this far with ZERO moves, then you are not even trying. Time for new management.

BBalljay hasn't been on the forum for over 2 years so I think his Keeper GM spot is forfeited.
I know Wart has been around but he hasn't made any moves or adjusted his lineup (ie. Bogut still in starting lineup). Will send him a message to find out what's going on.

As for new GM's, we only have 10 teams in the league so there is room for expansion to 12 at least. Nobody has enquired to me about joining, but if anyone reading this is interested in joining let me know. New teams won't join until next season, but there may be a chance to look after a team for the rest of this season.

And if you do rescue a team it doesn't necessarily mean to have to keep that team going forward so don't be hesitant about picking up a bad team.

I don't want to make extra work for webz unless he is into it, but I figured we should start talking about this now, so that we can go into the offseason with some sort of plan for how to handle lameduck franchises.

I'm glad you mentioned it, Rascoe. To be honest, I didn't even notice that they weren't participating. If neither is interested in playing, I think we should have new owners take over as soon as possible.

Actually, Warthog isn't adjusting his lineup in Advanced League either.
