I'm not sure about everyone else, but I will be discarding rubbish like Amare Stoudemire (#10 pick last year), Joe Johnson and Wesley Matthews (both top 25 players this season).

I am going to have to give back Jose Calderon who is a GREAT 3rd guard, Gordon Hayward, who is turning into a 20PPG swingman, Brandon Bass who might be the future big man in Boston, Goran Dragic, who has been playing out of his mind in Houston, and Paul Millsap who has been one of the best PFs in the league this year.

And that's just my regular season 5th place team.

You guys won't be championship contenders in year 1 unless you make some really cunning moves, but there is no reason why you guys can't aim for a playoff berth.

Don't underestimate the Novice League champs rascoe.
I wouldn't be moving my Squirrels to this league if I wasn't absolutely convinced that we're going to open a FRESH CAN all over you suckas. Rufus and I have no interest in merely making the playoffs. We're initowinit foo!

Ya'll have no idea what we're capable of. We own the waiver wire! We know who's injured well in advance cuz we CAUSE the injuries! The Mile High Squirrels have a network of gang affiliated SOLDJAS who do our dirty work.

Here's a hypothetical: We playin' the M-Waves next week?
You bet 'cher stanky Canadian azz that LeBron is comin up lame by the hand of some kid who's not afraid to go to jail!
You want 'cunning moves'? How about havin' one of my troops call up Rajon Rondo's girl and tell her that he's been playing "away games" with strippers of road trips (and of course we send her some photos). Watch her slice his groin with a knife and all of the sudden, he's holdin down your IR for '12/'13.

    WE ROLL DEEP YO'!!!

LOL, this is why we needed you in this league. And dba for some mature optimism.

Remember to activate any players you have in your IR slot by 27 April otherwise they will be dropped. There is no IR during the off-season. This is also the final date for any adds/drops until next season.

Linwood intentionally tanked last year just so he could win Most Improved this year.

just to add, 'll probably drop Kyle Lowry (who was awesome this year until injured); altogether, I think the new teams will have enough fine players and can always work on a long-term strategy. Maybe we should introduce a 2nd keeper?

The league has been reactivated for next season, however the league is still officially closed until September 1, so no trades or other activity is allowed. The next major date on the horizon is the keeper selection date which is October 1.

If you've noticed some players have been dropped, these are guys that were left in the IR spot from last season. As per the rules, the IR is not allowed in the off-season. Any dropped players can no longer be considered for keeper status and will go back into the FA pool.

Don't we have some sort of supplemental draft coming up where the two "inherited" teams get to pick our keepers for next season?

Yes, but it won't be until after the keeper selection deadline for the other teams. So after Oct 1.

    word.

I need to log into there one of these days and change my team name and stuff.
I'm looking forward to the season. My team has been getting in a lot of trouble during these summer months.
Downtime is not a good thing for the Denver Squirrels.

    Hi all,

Just a reminder that the keeper selection deadline is not far away - Oct 1.

I can see 3 teams have not made their choices yet so get cracking. DBA and BDL - you guys don't need to do anything yet. Once everyone else has selected their keepers all the remaining players will go back into the pool and I'll conduct the coin toss for your personal draft. You will be able to see who is available and you'll take it in turns to PM me your selections so I can update your rosters manually. Remember that one of your picks must be a 'young keeper'.

I've just posted the rules for this year on the league page, so take a look and let me know if there are any questions.

I think an exception should be made. Stuck is basically in his 2nd year only.

dba hasn't been online since June 18. We might want to make sure he is still going to be involved in the next season of Keeper.

Let me know if you need my help.

Ah really? Thanks for the heads up. I've just sent him an email so hopefully he gets that and returns soon.

The keepers have now been selected, so the next step is for DBA and BDL to select their keepers from the remaining pool. I'll also put out a draft poll soon.

Any others out there interested in case DBA doesn't get back to us in time?
