Only because Cannuckian years are like dog years in reverse. It's like, you guys and Alaska have nights that last for like 6 months. So when you say you are 30, you are actually 60 in rest-of-the-world-years. Sorry bout that old timer. Roscoe, you are going to be SO SORRY you agreed to join this league. You should always listen to your gut instinct! Here are some coming attractions for the following weeks: :nerd2:
RESOURCES Here is an expert poll from Yahoo, by position. The far right column is the composite of the experts, or "average" ranking. Preseason Ranks: 1st Base - Fantasy - Yahoo! Sports I don't know how good this injury list and schedule is, but I am going to use it, Fantasy Baseball - Injury Calendar Best of luck sandwich and the fellas! :D
Thanks Cannuckian. Hey, are we already on daylight savings time? I thought we were supposed to set the clocks tonight, but my computer time changed.
Tates was probably up all night plotting his draft strategy. Being the best at fantasy sport can cause a lot of sleepless hours. It takes determination to stay on top. This is why I try to be the worst. That way, I sleep much more. I'll never forgive Woody from stealing 10th place from me last season.
In all honesty Green Man, I woke up a half hour ago and was like...Ohhhh, I guess I better go plan my draft strategy. Cannuckian:Yes, we do have clocks here. Would you like to borrow mine? I heard your rooster was eaten by a sea lion. You guys go ahead and laugh now. I'm taking names!!!!!
were suppose to plan? i thought i was going to use this lucky coin i have and make my picks... mind you i did do a league years and years ago when i was single and just home from college (no friends in the area)... and spent way to much time trying to out think everyone..... not sure i'd ever want to spend that much time on a league again.
well i am either going to have a built in excuse at stinking..... or i won't be able to take credit for doing well.... at my parents home for the day, no biggie just jump on there dialup computer and do the draft, done drafts before on dialup..... except they don't have java on there computer.... lol dl it now but don't think i'll have it installed in time for the draft.... see ya when i get in
Yeah, but sadly I only get about 88% of the wins in the league. I need to try harder. Roscoe, once again you have cast the first stone. Let the games begin!!! ***Gets calendar and marks down schedule against Roscoe**
I wasn't able to attend the draft. I just checked out my roster and it looks kind of weak. It looks like I'll be really strong in stolen bases but not really strong in the rest of the categories. I'll need all of my guys to have career years just to keep pace in the HR and RBI categories. I'll definitely need an upgrade at catcher and closer. My pitchers had a combined 9 saves last year.
My pitching has some question marks. I'm not sure where Joba Chamberlain will be pitching yet -- if he'll be a starter or reliever. Also, I took Liriano and Pedro. Liriano is returning from Tommy John surgery and Pedro is just plain old. And can Bedard live up to the hype? I'm pretty weak in the OF, too. But, overall, I like my team. I got Cabrera at 3B and Ichiro (for his steals). I think Tejada can do well in Houston with that short left-field porch. I'm most disappointed in my Evan Longoria pick. It says "NA" next to his name. ???? I wonder what Tony Parker did to him? I guess I'll be dumping him. I'm sure Laimbeer's son will be proposing trades with me and the other teams as soon as possible.
I feel pretty good about my picks. I caouldn't believe Chase Utley almost fell to me at tenth. I would have taken him first, lol. Anyhow, I am pleased with Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Braun as my bang bang #10 &11 picks. Also joining my team from last years squad are Pat Burrell Tim Lincecum, and Yovani Gallardo. Also for brief stints I had Kelly Johnson, Shane Victorino, Carlos Marmol, Kevin Gregg, Zack Greinke, and Justin Upton. Of course, doing that didn't work out so well with my hockey team this year. I was careful to get a good catcher and relief pitchers this year, which I didn't have last year. I figured it's much easier to get outfielders off the wire than a quality relief pitcher. I was so strong up the middle last year, but I couldn't do anything about that this year. I'm hoping some of my youngsters do well. Overall, I think I'm fairly solid and will be competitive, but that's impossible to say this early. Usually, about 3 guys that I drafted are still on my team after the first month!! Looking at everyones team I didn't see anyone with a bad team, but I really don't know the players that well. Looks like a great group. Should be a fun season. Good luck to all!
