I think I'm in trouble. My team has been sliding for the last month. My best player, Jose Reyes, is 2 for 19 this week with 0 SB.

Yeah, stupid Reyes used up his quota by getting like 7 against me! LOL

    Well...

    Roscoe knocked off Bezeach.

    One last game in progress.

Bill, looks like you need 3 hits to make it 5-5 (because I think you win the tiebreaker) and 4 hits to win it outright... your poor kid got ripped off. They benched two of his guys today.

I've got to imagine you'll get those hits. Or a home run helps you too.

Give the kid a hug before bed tonight. Either way it goes he fought the old man like a Spartan and played well in his initial fantasy campaign.

Tiebreaker is lowest ERA, so I lose on that one.

To win, I need either a HR OR a hit and a stolen base. The SB isn't too likely with Victor Martinez and Garrett Anderson. I'll have to beg for the HR.

It is? How did you learn that????

I've been checking for all the sports and never see it.

There is a little link in the top right corner of the screen called Rules. A web page will come up and then you click on Tiebreaker. I know it's not very intuitive, but I managed to figure it out with a little luck.... :pound:

LOL. Thanks. I honestly didn't know where to look.

Well, I guess it was academic anyhow. Congratulations to your son. I guess now I gotta figure out a way to beat him. Does the kid take bribes?

I'm sure you'll do okay without bribes. Perhaps I should have stooped to something like that.

Geez Bill. One day and your kid is already talking junk. He must be puffing out his chest knocking off his old man.

Well, my era dropped from 40. But I think your kid has a great shot at the "upset". Although he's got some cajones talking smack after only one day AND while he's losing...I like that.

Honestly, if I lose...sure it's a let down, but I had a great time all year. I've been on the other end of it, so no sour grapes if I get knocked off. You gotta play all the way to the finish. If someone else gets hot in the playoffs...all the power to them.

I really was hoping for at least 2nd place so I'd like to make it through this round. If not, I'll try to grab the third place trophy.

Darth, I told my son that you were hoping to play him because you naturally feared me. He took that to heart and, of course, smack talk was unavoidable at that point.

Honestly, I don't know why...but I had a very bad feeling you were going to knock me off. I felt it all year and you were the one team I didn't want to meet...but maybe in a sense you are going to knock me off...by letting your kid get through to me! :pound:

Interesting start to the week. My batters came out sluggish while my pitchers held me in good stead. Man, Chad Billingsley has been my FA pick up of the year, he is my best pitcher and that includes Zambrano, Sheets and Kazmir (well maybe not quite Kazmir).

What you got sandwich man? Anything left in the tank? :gun1:

Final day Micro-man! Its close, but I think as long as my pitchers don't blow out their WHIP today I should take all the pitching Cat's (minus CG) and SB, which will be enough.

You have most of the batting Cat's but 6 wins and 6 saves is a fantastic week from my guys, so I guess you have been a bit unlucky in that respect.

Still, there's time for a late change, hope it doesn't happen.

    Bill,

Tell your kid it was a great and exciting match right up to the very last second. But tell him I wasn't scared or worried in the least bit. :faint2:

It was uncanny how he was getting exactly what he needed today. I was sure I''d lost it on the tiebreaker when his relievers caught me by surprise and got 6 strikeouts to tie me in that category when I was most worried about the hits category!! But then I checked a couple hours later and my newly acquired reliever Benoit had saved me with two rare strikeouts of his own.
Still, I was also sweating it out knowing Abreu played that last game. I guess Lady luck just smiled upon me a tad more than she did on him although my own Hennessey did everything in his power to prevent me from winning. And who the heck was that dude who smacked three homers on me the last two days??? Lucky for me your kid benched Guerrero...probably bad advice from Poppa.:pound:

Oh yeah...I won't be able to attend his championship parade but maybe next year.
Actually, tell him thank you for knocking Daddy off for me because you had a nice week and would have kicked my butt like 8-3 or something if we played this week.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Webz,

Are you ready to rumble? It looks like a rematch of our basketball match two years ago when you had the dominant team and I was number two and pulled off the upset. Should be a great one, but I hope I win again.

Either way I'm happy. :winner_first_h4h: or :second: . I didn't want to finish less than 2nd after such a great season. Of course #1 would be preferable.

Sparky Anderson (A legendary Baseball Manager) once said that there was no pressure once you got in the World Series. The Pressure was in the Championship series before it.
I've found that to be mostly true in fantasy playoffs too. The pressure round was the last one. Let's have some fun.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
OK...so my football team suxxx! I don't wanna talk about it! :yellowprison:

Nice job, Darth. I was surprised when I checked your score last night and saw how close it was. I think we had given up on that matchup a couple of days ago.

We got a 1-2 matchup for the title. Good job by Darth and Webz.

Good job by Woody, too. Hey Woody, at least you're not playing for 11th place!
