Thanks, thats ok. 1st time using that system so I was not sure who would go for what. Still have the safety blanket of there being only 10 teams so there is still plenty out there.

You may have overpaid, but Paul, Melo & Howard is a great core. Might not get you a title this year, but IMO you have 2.75+ young franchise guys.

That was basically my strategy. I think I nominated 4 Pistons. I was holding off on top 10 guys, but I had to take Wade at only $37.

I tried to stock up on young guys. Twelve of my 15 are 26 years or younger. I realize you only keep 3 players, but I should have plenty to choose from at the end of the season.

    Wade - 26
    Gay - 22
    Ellis - 22
    Stoudamire - 25
    Iguodala - 24
    Oden - 20
    Barbosa - 25
    Love - 20
    Beasley - 19
    Felton - 24
    Ford - 25
    Westbrook - 19

So Bill, your plan is to be the D-League for the rest of the teams? That's a really young team you've got there!

Bill is right. You shouldn't get too caught up in having a young team or guys with a future unless you plan to keep them. ie. There's no point drafting OJ Mayo for $20 because 'he is going to be a stud one day'.

That may be the case, but unless he ends up in your 3 keepers for next season he will just go back into the FA pool for next season and you've wasted your time.

Your first 4 or 5 picks are the most important as Roscoe said, because it's likely your 3 keepers will come from them and these are the guys you build your franchise around.

That said, your keepers can change from year to year so just playing for the season at hand can also work as a strategy.

The main Piston I was interested in was Amir Johnson but not at the price I paid for him and not in the 2nd round. I think he has a chance to be one of the leaders in blocks this season.

Thats alright. I will pick which categories I want to go for and probably end up dumping half my team this week.

My strategy is a work in progress. I'm in this one for the long haul.

i kept getting interrupted during the draft and only got people because i closed out and let the computer draft for me. it was an interesting experience but i don't have time to sit at a computer uninterrupted like that.

I'm pretty happy with my guys' production...and some of my better players are on the bench this week.

David Lee had a great night making roscoe3666 look like a monkey genius

Why is my lineup always locked? This is set on a weekly basis?

Certainly is my friend. It's a weekly league. You need to set your lineup before the first game of the week which is on a Monday.

I don't like it either. You don't get to use your bench players as much and you can't adjust your lineup for injuries until the next week.

The weekly format was announced on the 18th and 24th. Also posted are the rules of the league including off-season player movement. Please read the rules and understand them. If we treat this like another Adv. League we ultimately bulldoze the subtle differences between the two.

If the league continues (as it should) there is the opportunity to propose and vote on rule changes in an organized fashion for next season.

Having said that, I like the weekly format. Its excruciating to not play a certain guy but it takes more thought. Pau Gasol for 2 games or Joakim Noah for 4? Daily, its a no brainer but in weekly, you really have to make a call...

i kinda like the weekly format and molded my team around that (lots of very solid players, pretty thin bench with a bunch of guys who have a chance to break out)

The rules are the same for everyone so I suppose its best to think of it that way.

It is a lot less time intensive, I will give it that.

I'm ok with weekly format, makes it easier to play in Advanced as well and it makes it more important to own quality players than a well- balanced roster. It also makes you need to juggle ifyou'd rather play a decent player who'll have 4 appearances or a good one who only has 3.

Adv. league does require a lot more scrutiny. 2 owners makes a BIG difference.

I was in a weekly league last year and it was not fun, which is why I think I was found myself in a playoff battle for sixth-or seventh place in the 8 team sleeper league last season.

It was low maintenance, but you could not display your GM skills as you were handicapped with the number of changes you had at hand. The other thing about that league was that the whole league played with a bunch of scrubs:faint2:
