I feel you, Darth. If my sports teams lose on the road, my wife always says, "well I like it when the home team wins". :frusty:

Yup. We traveled to Michigan from Idaho to see the game and she said, "I feel sorry for the Lions. They and their fans need something to be happy about". I was, like, " SO DO I" !!!!!! then she started cheering for both teams. I didn't say much to her after that. :pound:

Got a new-found respect for Michael Vick. The media is raving about him. Eagles say there is no quarterback controversy. First you trade 6 time pro bowler, most successful QB in Eagles history, Donovan McNabb, to play unproven Kevin Kolb as your #1, and now you are going to put Vick back in the second role after his remarkable performance against Detroit??? I guess they are willing to sacrifice the present for the future.

Kolb has shown nothing so far. Maybe he will be great, as they predict, but heads should roll if they aren't guessing correctly. If Kolb plays crappy against Jacksonville next week, I say put his butt on the bench unless Vick goes down. Don't ANNOINT him your number one unless he proves he deserves it. I'm giving him only one game based on Vick's one and a half game performance. Isn't that all Kolb showed us last year before he was annointed the king???:bs::mob-smiley:

The problem with pro football, there is always to much respect given to a QB once the coach names him the starter at the beginning of the season and no one wants to recant that decision thinking that it throws the rest of the players off in what direction the team heads in. In other words unless the starting QB is on his deathbed, as long as he can run and throw, he has to start no matter how bad he is doing.

Kolb will hold on to the starting job until they lose 2-3 games in a row.

Even if the Lions get to Favre this week and beat him, I expect the Vikings give him one or two more chances before they decide to bench him for Tavaris Jackson or whomever they got down there.

They just didn't want to say,"Nabb we're tired of your almost getting us there and choking, Vick is younger, good riddance. Oh, Kolb has a much higher upside."

McNabb didn't have anyone to throw to all those years. The year they had Terrel Jackass Owens they went to the Super Bowl and barely lost to a great New England team. Don't blame McNabb. Blame the defense.

Upside wins in the future. MAYBE.

Lions been waiting 50 years. I want to win NOW!

    Get in line buddy.

Heck, I'm just looking for a .500 season next year! (I've been expecting between 3-5 wins from this season since they released the schedule).

Not surprisingly I did not hear Shaun Hill's name not one time today on the national broadcasts (ESPN, NFL Network)....It was all Vick. Just wonder if Hill had actually brought the Lions back to win yesterdays game and the NFL had ruled last weeks TD good >would the media have said that there is a QB controversy in Detroit? Or would have it still been an all media blitz on the Eagles??

Dre makes sense here. Dre is actually right here.
    [/STRIKE]

Players want their coach to be on the up and up by being honest with their communication. The coach committed to the whole team that Kolb was his man. By doing that, he now needs to give him every chance to make it. He also made the contractual committment to Kolb as he is the one getting the big bucks. May not make sense to the win now attitude of the fans, but it's the way it is.

Anyone watching the Saints - 49ers game? I'm trying to understand why Saints used time outs in the end of the first quarter but I don't get the strategy. 49ers had the ball somewhere in the middle and it was 3rd and short. The commentators talked about field position but they have another quarter left.

been to busy to watch tv till now, I can only guess that its really windy maybe at the game, sometimes you'll use timeouts so that you can punt with the wind which helps with the field position.
