He looked a little tired on that missed dunk attempt for sure. It is totally different watching the Pistons when they have a freak on the court. That was the best part about the '04 era Pistons-- watching Ben's physical domination. Drummond is feeling his way right now, but he surprisingly poised for having so little experience and being so young. He looks awkward when he needs to create a shot, but otherwise he doesn't seem to make any boneheaded plays and makes a lot of heads up ones. Plays more like a 23 year old.
I'll be glad when Drummond finally realizes that he is a ridiculous athalete! It's like he's the last to know.
Between the trade that I still don't believe is going to happen but at least got me thinking and the absolute pounding that the Pistons put on the Suns to improve to 5-3 in their last 8, I'm as happy a Pistons fan as I've been in awhile. Combine that with the news my wife and I got today at her 20th week ultrasound that we're having our second boy (if I ever happen to meet any of you in real life, you have to pretend that we didn't find out the sex ahead of time because that's what we're telling our nosy relatives), and this is just a great day! I wasn't able to watch this one, as I taught tonight (can't all be roses), but good stuff. Thanks for the write-ups, guys (and girl, should Alexa post).
It's a sign. You'll have to strongly consider the name Charlie in honor of the Pistons leading scorer on the day you found out. Congrats LB.
Wow was that the Pistons I saw playing tonight? Also, did u guys see the Andre Drummond crossover? That's a freaking 7 footer doing that lol. Too bad he missed though, but still that was kinda cool to see. Ps. Props to Charlie V! Always love rooting for the underdog.
It was a very fun game to see. Only about 7-8k people there ( not kidding really ). I don't know why, maybe the music is too loud or something. Never seen it that dead before. 40 point blowout may be the cure - we will see. 5-11 almost looks half way respectable.
Thanks, guys! Given Charlie's propensity to shoot a lot, shouldn't his nickname be "Chuck"? Just sayin'.
Is it just me or is it weird having Drummond down there blocking shots. ...I guess it's just that I haven't seen a Piston big dude block a shot in about 3 seasons.
That's why Frank is limiting Drummond's minutes. If you had a big, athletic, young lottery pick starting and swatting shots for 30 mintues a night en route to a 12-3 record, all our minds would be blown and our faces would melt.
A nice bit from Corey Maggette. http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20121130/SPORTS0102/211300325#ixzz2DhyaGqHz
I've always looked at Maggette's arrival as just an upgrade over Damien Wilkins, he's actually been a solid addition to this team IMO. Since he's been back we've been a pretty respectable.
I'm personally suspicious of mid court/ mid field gatherings because they seem to be trying to get intentionally noticed.
