I think you're forgetting Nazr for Herrrrrrman and the great Primoz Brezac and Delfino for 13 conditional 2nd round picks.
Had to register after lurking some time just to agree with this. Ewww:ing Lee?!? :o It would be one of the best possible aquisitions this team could do imo. (even thou I have a hard time believing we'll get him)
PistonPowered » Blog Archive » Friday Trade Idea: Getting out Richard Hamilton’s and Jason Maxiell’s long-term contracts and getting immediate help I'd do this to free ourselves of our two worst contracts - knowing that losing Rip is a very difficult thing for the short term. It would also help us tank with dignity.
Ford could become the PG we need over here. He should play starting 5 with Stuckey at the 2 with BG getting his minutes of the bench as he#s used to.
I might be OK with this trade..if we could get Ford to regain his form next season and handle the point
Dallas has made it clear to Sac that they would like to take Kevin Martin off their hands and are offering up Josh Howard. What I didn't know about Josh Howard is that the last year of his contract (next season) is a team option, so he is essentially an expiring deal. Would Dallas entertain a Rip (whom they've shown an interest in-in the past) for Josh Howard trade? where we don't pick up Howard's option next season and clear $12.5M off the books.
I won't get on Joe for that one because when Joe extended him (and Maxiel for that matter) nobody uttered a word.......except for you right? Hindsight is 20/20, had we known then what we know now, we'd have drafted Blair instead of Summers. Melo instead of.........
Because I'm just not that impressed with him. I think he's really good, but that's it. I'd put him in the same category as Carl Landry. I'd rather have him than Villanueva but that's not saying much. I'm sure if he came here, we'd overpay him too. The combination of Lee and Villanueva in any kind of starter/bench combo just sounds like we are content building a perennial 6th-7th seed.
Tay looks so damn awful out there. On our team, it's such a waste to play him - and does nothing for our future to do so. Time to dispose of him.
Too bad he's been injured so many games, Pistons would have been heading straight towards Wall otherwise.
Just heard on the radio that we are in talks to acquire Amare since the Suns have been unable to negotiate an extension. What are we going to have to give up to get him and will it be worth it?
Here is what I come up with. Saves the Suns 7 mill and gives them two bigs for the price of one. NBA Trade Machine - ESPN
Don't you guys get nervous when including high potential guys like Daye, or our #1 pick in trade scenarios, where we are getting a player who won't be there (highly likely) the next season? I don't know. I'd be thrilled to trade Tay, and I'd love to trade Rip and Maxiell, to get out from under their contracts, and to clear out the roster logjam so we can develop the young guys -- but still....
That was one of the reasons I asked what people thought it would take and whether it would be worth it. It would be nice to just unload our garbage on another team but... I would rather keep Daye and JJ but you have to give value to get value. I think in order to get a legitimate big, it takes a little more.
It depends on a lot of factors. What others are offering. What the finances of the Suns look like, what Amare is asking for. Trading for him, with the intention to re-sign, means that we will be capped out for years to come. You better love Bengo, Charlie, Stuck and Amare, because that will be the nucleus for several years to come.
