What JD meant to say was that...."We've been so bad for so long", said Piston President Joe Dumars, "that I don't want the players to exceed the expectations of our mediocre coach"

At heart Joe is a slot machine player. Yes, I've lost 122 times in a row so I'm due.

Time to re-up Rip before it's too late.

It would be nice if Joe could get Billups back to tutor Stuckey on the PG role if he gets amnestied.

On a separate thread I had stated that because of the lock out I was probably done watching the NBA for at least this season and possibly for good. Then everything was resolved and I was kind of excited about what the Pistons would do, regretting I had said anything. I would now like to thank 1) Joe D for his moves today 2) The NBA for still allowing super teams (I assume by this time next week we will have the Heat (w/Billups), Knicks (w/Tyson Chandler), and the Lakers (w/Chris Paul)), I can now safely say I won't be going back on my word!!

Unfortunately the rich get richer and the Pistons get ...Prince...

Super teams only bring out more fans to see that teams supa star players beat their team and enhance the TV revenues and hype for those super teams.

The fans of the other teams suffer knowing that even if their team seems to have a ligitimate chance at a title, it won't happen when the all of the best players are on the rosters of 5 teams.

Battier is no superstar, but it was either Prince or him as the veteran small forward and we went with the known commodity who is 2 years younger and Battier instead of coming home adds some more D to the Heat

Speaking of super teams, the Pistons are looking to be this year's Miami Heat. There is going to be a big 1-hour telecast on Fox Sports Detroit tonight in which Tayshaun will announce where he is taking his talents this season.

If we re-sign Stuckey, is this our roster?

    PG - Stuckey, Knight, Bynum
    SG - Hamilton, Gordon
    SF - Prince, Daye, Maxiell
    PF - Villanueva, Jerebko, Macklin
    C - Monroe, Wallace

That's the most misunderstood super team in the league.

Hamilton and Gordon splitting SG is a fabulous recipe for disaster. Stir in some Tay (a lot Tay) (38 freaking minutes a game of freaking Tay), and that fabulous disaster recipe becomes positively (negatively) rancid.

I don't see why everyone is so negative. Now that Coach Kuester is out of the way I really think this small ball lineup is going to flourish.

Stuckey/Hamilton = Big guard lineup - No distributor, no floor stretching shooters, defence passable.
Knight/Gordon = Small guard lineup - Good distributor/shooter combo. Absolute disaster on defence.

If we keep all these guys we need to start Knight and Rip. Then play Stuckey and Gordon together off the bench. Not saying this is a recipe for success, but balances things out.
