There was a play in that Jazz game where Artest hacks the crap out of somebody driving to the hoop. He then yells out "no layups." We could use a little of that, I agree.

Well he sounds better than Shaq and is probably having more fun than the diesel too. Then again this was video was produced in 2006 when he was really considered a hellcat. I think he has mellowed somewhat since then...

Dumars have to re-sign Walter Herrmann, he's a good player and could be great, had a size to defend stronger Player like Lebron.

We don't need Artest, just bring Herrman , and give a decent role for him.

I am all for a major shake-up of the starting lineup. I just don't think the team should risk losing key players in exchange for a nut case (e.g., Artest).

C'mon, if Artest doesn't work out you waive him and go with Herrrrrrman. He's a great defender and a knock down shooter. They can't lose.

Yeah, and Sacramento laughs themselves to sleep every night for the next 2-3+ years every time they think about getting Tayshaun Prince for their nutcase loser. I would call that a big loss.

Oh yeah, I forgot, Tay sucks...:nerd2:

To clarify, when I say he's a great defender and a knock down shooter, I am talkng about plan B, Walter Herrrrman.

P.S. The Sacto brass will have ample time to sleep watching Tay back his man down.

Artest also has only 1 year left on his deal. Is he going to stick around, assuming everything else is peachy?

I'm sure Prince will go to Europe to play with Childress and Delfino.

Tay doesn't suck...he's just over-rated and not worth $9.5M this season.

That's where we disagree. Respectfully, to be sure.

Are we the Minnesota Twins of the NBA?!

I'm not afraid to admit that i'm losing patience.

not saying that i hate Prince but his play is clearly overrated considering how much he suffers during fatigue (and he only played 32 minutes a game last year), and the only 22 year older with more upside than Smith is Dwight Howard. As for Artest, barring some 2004 incident, he's better than Prince in almost every way. This doesn't seem right. Whatever happened to ponying up a little?

PS this doesn't make me a bandwagoner because i'm throwing a fit. i'm tired of watching half of the Palace sleeping through regular season games, and i'm tired of watching certain players visibly looking like they are panting when we need them playing at top level. and i fear if we don't get either Smith or Artest then we'll end up doing a lesser deal that isn't significant enough to get us over the hump. maybe we're all fools for thinking that this organization was capable of doing something cool and edgy.

perhaps we could blame the speculative reports just to get our hopes up? (however, that IS their job...)

guess that kind of defeats the purpose of this username. my work here has failed.

we could have easily offered that (who needs 1st round picks in the late 20's anyway?) but i guess holding contempt over the past (which all started over a guy who freaking bolted for Chicago) is more important than getting a guy better in all aspects than Tayshaun Prince.

I could let the Palace thing go if there weren't so many other warning signs.

There's no question that Artest is a talented player. If he weren't, he would have been bounced out of the league long ago.

They were already a pretty good defensive team.
