The Pistons were 10-1 in February. Now comes the real test before the playoffs, March. The Pistons play 17 games in March. Five back to backs, a five game west coast trip, and seven of their first nine games are on the road. How do you think they will do in March?
15-2. Today, the best things about the game were what is being or has been added. Webber. JMAX. Hear this, Amir is as good as JMAX. Blalock has a lot to give. Its a long month with a lot of games. Around 4000 minutes to divvy up. Give some of them toward building this team. I liked today. I want more. Note, I had to add something after the 15-2 to make this post long enough or I would have stopped at 15-2. Oh, at Phoenix and at Chicago are the two games we will lose.
The West Coast trip is going to be a killer but the Pistons seem to play as well on the road as they do at home. I'm going to try and make the Phoenix game on March 16th so hopefully they'll win that one since they already lost to Phoenix in Detroit. Time for Flipper to get serious and play the bench alot so the starters aren't fatigued and worn out by the time the playoffs start. Beware the Ides of March right?
I forgot to give my prediction - 11-6. Losses @ Portland, @ Spurs,@ Bulls, @PHX, Denver & Golden State @ home....
Personally I don't really care too much about the March record, though I can understand where others do, or the April record up until Apr 18th (though I can understand where others do). My main concern over the next 7 weeks + is that they don't have any major injuries to the top 9 guys. If they are all healthy the record after April 18th will take care of itself. This is was Peyton's year to silence the critics and I believe that this could be Flipper's year to silence the critics. Go Pistons, may you stay injury free!!
The March schedule looks pretty grueling. If the Pistons win 11 or 12 out of the 17 games, they are doing pretty good.
No doubt. One more 11-6 vote and it will be perfectly symmetric. Where is Buckeyes when you need him?
The poll will close on Thursday. I am curious to see how The Low is voting.............. Waiting on your vote Low?????
I voted 10-7, but then I looked back at the schedule and saw that we are playing the Clippers, not the Lakers on March 11, so I'm going on record for 11-6 instead. The games I think we'll lose: @Phoenix, Dallas, @Houston, @San Antonio, Denver and @Chicago. I think they'll do pretty good, but I wonder if they'll be able to keep their edge against the lesser teams. A loss against Golden State or Portland wouldn't shock me. Also it would be great if they could pull off a win against Phoenix, Dallas or San Antonio, as those are the teams they are most likely to see in the Finals.
What will the March record be? I say 11 wins and 6 losses 8:00 p.m. @Heat Saturday, Mar 3 8:00 p.m. @GrizzliesFSN Detroit Monday, Mar 57:30 p.m. WarriorsFSN Bay Area Wednesday, Mar 7 7:30 p.m. CavaliersFSN Ohio Friday, Mar 99:00 p.m. @Nuggets Sunday, Mar 113:00 p.m. @Clippers Tuesday, Mar 1310:00 p.m. @SuperSonicsFSN Northwest Wednesday, Mar 1410:00 p.m. @Trail BlazersFSN Detroit Friday, Mar 1610:00 p.m. @SunsFSN Arizona Sunday, Mar 183:30 p.m. Mavericks Tuesday, Mar 207:30 p.m. 76ers Thursday, Mar 228:30 p.m. @Rockets Friday, Mar 23 8:00 p.m. @Spurs Sunday, Mar 25 3:30 p.m. @Bucks Monday, Mar 26 7:30 p.m. Nuggets Thursday, Mar 29 8:00 p.m. @Bulls Friday, Mar 30 8:00 p.m. Nets
Re: What will the March record be? Easy win --------------- I'm very pleased with how positive most of you are. You have faith in your Pistons. Even fuss pots like AHB and Rosc see rosey colors. I need to change my vote
Pistons are off to a 1-3 start for March. It looks some people were overly-optimistic. tpaPistonFan's 15-2 prediction isn't going to happen. The 14-3 prediction by detroitsfynest, kolay, and Murph certainly isn't looking too promising. Nobody predicted a sub-.500 March record.
With five straight road games and then a date with the Mavs thrown in there at the end. There is a possibility that this could turn into an ugly 8 game losing streak. The good thing is that the Pistons have a better road record than home. The bad is this west coast trip pops up in the middle of a slump and our old defensive stopper will be at home the whole trip dieting with his wife. Has Flip tested positive for anything that could possibly leave him home? Does he need hip replacement surgery or something?
