I wonder if Joe still doesn't trust rookies enough to play significant minutes. I honestly didn't expect this.
Anyone have some info on him? I have read he is a tremendous scorer, but lacks defensive abilities...

I like the move. I expected a signing like this. The young guys will still play(it's not like Hayes is old). Stuckey will backup Chauncey. Hayes and Afflalo will backup Rip and Tayshaun. Amir, J Max, and Dice will backup Sheed. Since the PF position is very deep some of those guys (mainly Sheed) will get their minutes at PF lowered in order to help Nazr at C. The young guys will still play. Because Nazr is our only real center Samb still has a very good chance to do something as well.
Our roster is up to 16 now.. who gets the chop? Hunter, Murray(via trade), or dupree? It'd be too early for Meijia...
From what I've seen so far, I don't think Samb has a chance for any minutes in Detroit. He'll be better off playing in all games in Fort Wayne.
If we didn't have a shortage at C, I'd like the move. he's a guy that can come in and contribute. he was starting in front of Caron butler. As it is, Naz it not a strong point and there is no one to back him up.
However there is a lot of people backing up Sheed that are very good. The Pistons have Sheed, J Max, Amir, and Dice. At least one of those guys won't get the minutes he should be getting. A real backup C would be nice, but as of right now one of those PF's will have to take a load at C.
apparently fans at wizards.realgm.com universally wanted him off their team. He has poor ballhandling skills which means he's unable to get separation from his man. He should benefit from a set 'em up PG. He's not really known for defense so i dunno what the difference is between him and Dupree at this point. he has had major knee injuries in the past so he could recover or remain a little gimpy.
I guess the difference between him and dupree is he has a great jump shot. Maybe we he do a little hamilton mimicing and run off screens and such? I can see how that would work in the Flip offense... if he's willing to run..
I hope he's working hard at stuffing Twinkies into his mouth. At this point, he could use a Cheerio as a hoola hoop. He simply does not weigh enough. He'll get pushed around and get posterized on a regular basis. If Samb is Detroit's Nazr backup, that is our weakest link. Well, the center position is anyway.

Feels like a bit of mixed reviews eh? well if he can come off the bench and score a couple baskets and give Tayshaun a sandwhich then he can't be that bad =)
