I agree. If he stays free of injuries, he will be a very pleasant surprise to most on this forum.
Jarvis has been on Joe's radar for an awfully long time. The impact potential of this signing is HUGE. Thumbs up all day long from me.
PISTONS: Nice Pickup
Wow, I didn't know Delfino was such a burden for the organization.
Delfino was indubitably a lightning rod for criticism if nothing else...from what I gather Jarvis Hayes got the same treatment in Washington. Change of scenery will be good for both...indubitably.
I don't really know this guy, but based on sprocket points per minute played, and more or less matching the number of minutes last year, he was pretty similar in production to... Maurice Evans Flip Murray Quinton Ross Jason Kapono
That's why some have a problem with this guy because he reminds them of the guys listed there, but I think he can improve here. He won't be playing PF and he should become healthier.
He actually only had one injury, so we can't really label him as injury-prone.
Orlando Sentinel - An active day in free agency -- for the end of August by
He had two kneecap fractures in two years.
It was the same knee that he didn't let heal properly the first time: Pistons grab injury-riddled small forward Jarvis Hayes from Wizards
I think it is a little much to expect a guy with two good kneecaps for a low cost, one year deal.
Well, same knee, it doesn`t matter. If it keeps you out for most of two seasons it may as well be multiple injuries. Especially when it happens in two of your first three years in the league.
If he'd have two good kneecaps, he'd have some kind of ankle issues for sure.
Grant Hill made a lot of money off of a bad ankle. Rethinking this, I think we got Hayes cheap. Two broken kneecaps are not easy to find in a player. I'm guessing that Joe's credibility and the overall attractiveness of Flip Saunders as a coach allowed us to land this guy at an affordable price.
Of course. The only way a team will get a steal is if their is some sort of issue with that player. Chauncey (can't play a specific position) Sheed (emotional issues) Hayes (injuries) Ben (not good enough)
Maxiell - too short Rip - no defense Blalock - can't shoot (oh wait, he really can't)
