Me too. Saw 108 posts and thought sumthins up...:)

Goodbye and good riddance Ratliff. Can Hunter go away too?

I'm OK with this. Are we certain he won't start eventually? He's not that bad, IMO.

Still, this isn't Joe's big deal is it?

Yeah, I think the player who is there first always has the option to keep it, although sometimes they sell it...for a lot. :pound:

Agree and a little sad how this was a steal that went unnoticed.

There's actually a thread on the Lakers forum that reached 20+ pages talking about bringing Kwame back.

Phil was apparently a big fan of Kwame's defense. The atmosphere might be better not just in terms of pressure, but the fact that this team is really tight-knit, and virtually drama free in terms of each other. Basically if he doesn't produce here, you can pretty much give up hope that he's going to be any semblance of a productive NBA player.

Kwame Brown! I agree with Lee that this move proves that Joe is a genius. A lot of reasons for this incredible signing:

He could be the best big man we have had since "Glinny".

His AOTG numbers are very good for the amount of minutes he plays.

I heard the Lakers were halfway thinking of wanting him back for his defense. So that means something.

Michael Jordan hated him and made him cry when he was in Washington. So maybe that toughened him up?

He is taller than a lot of the other players.

He hopefully won't play that much or maybe will be traded.

Why in the world to people assume that because Kwame is big and strong that he is a good defender? Watch an old game where he attempts to play defense. He's constantly looking the wrong way and failing to rotate and forget about weakside help. The Pistons defense is a team defense and Kwame just doesn't get it. That and defense is as much about effort as it is about knowledge and talent. Tall, big, and strong won't do much good for this team.

In December everyone will be scratching their heads when this "good defender" is the worst defender on the team.

His ON BALL post defense is pretty decent, his P&R defense is awful as is his rotation Defense. How many teams in the league are still dumping the ball into the low post these days. Having an agile C who can rotate as well as Hedge&Recover or even switch if needed is much more valuable.

This is the drink that will help you.
    1/2 Cup of Vodka
    1/2 Cup of White Rum
    1 Cup of Tequila Blanco
    1/2 Cup of Gin
    2 Cups of Pineapple Juice
    2 Cups of Cranberry Juice

I am having this right now. Excellent. Garnish with pineapple. You can add more liquor if needed. Enjoy

Our very first Kwame Brown article,:kleenex:
Pistons hoping Brown goes from bust to boom - Detroit Pistons Basketball: News, Blogs, Photos, Audio, Schedule & Stats - MLive.com

    edited to add;
Thinking farther ahead, he might be really useful if we face the Lakers. He's practiced against Bynum. He's always been able to push a post player farther out than they wanted to be,

well i guess we are reduced to this...wow, kwame brown..I have lost all respect for dumars at this point.first the weird drafting of a narcolept, and plaisted (this guy looks like a total stiff). now signing a 6-11 apathetic pylon? i thought players in the nba loved joe.. everyone worth anything has signed elsewhere. hell even biedrins is gone.if joe doesnt get josh smith he should be replaced.

I actually DO agree with Lee. I think Brown fills a need and he MAY pleasantly surprise us. No great loss if he doesn't. Relatively short K too. He sure beats the hell outta Theo Ratliff, IMO.

I think this sets the table for something larger...

Big is back in the east:

D-Ho, Biz Z, Perkins, Dalembert and Brand, Curry (?) and no tellin who else is set to rock our world down low. The #1 need up front is BEEF with skills imho; and KB provides at least that. All at $4 Mill per on a 2 yr deal!

Somebody wanna provide a better alternative for our MLE?

Particularly given KBs athleticism/size/age/potential ratio at a spot we need help at.

    KB...go to WORK!
