Does this end any chance of getting Bonzi Wells or Al Harrington? Excuse the dumb question I have been to sick to even look at an NBA logo since the Eastern Conference Finals. I loveED Big Ben as much as the next guy, but if we could get AL (like I read somewhere) with the new rules (which are a joke)we would be better off.

That would use up all of our mid level exception. This just sucks:frusty:.

Considering the options, it is hard to say I am underwhelmed.

Yes, this eliminates pretty much any upper tier free agent.

We now have $1.75 million to offer in the first year of a deal to a free agent.

I hope we still have a chance for either of these two. The problem is with Ben gone, those hoping to move here for a ring might think twice.

Right now all we have done is stuck someone in the middle who if fouled will probably make more free throws then Ben, but will not have the defensive presence of Big Ben.

Lets hope Joe is not eating BBQ and is still on the phone with agents and the Piston accountant to see how much money he still has in the pot. Maybe be Sheed should give some of his money back for disappearing numourus times this past season:laugh:

Now all we need is a secret under the table deal with Joe Smith and we're all set.

I agree. "Underwhelmed" was Joel Godzilla. Nazr is "frustrated anger". Nazr is a seven-foot Mo Evans, without the corner three-ball. The frustrating part is that Flip isn't about to start J-Max or DD over the $30 Million Man.

You know, Detroit is just too big of a city to go anywhere. There are rumors that Ann Arbor may get shipped to Canada, though....

wait we aren't over the cap though we are still under even with mohmaads 6 mill per year. Cuz we were wiling to give ben 12 mill a year and still be able to use a mle. So we still have a good 6 mill and 5 mill so we can still get bonzi wells and lindsey to back up the point.

    mjfeld, Nope.

We could re-sign Ben because he was our own free agent. That money cannot be used on a free agent from another team.

We only have $1.75 million left to shop with. Since the league average salary is $5 million, it is safe to say we will not be getting an impact player with our remaining free agent cash.

the point is nobody will sign for 1.75 million the first year. That wouldn't even buy an average player :ohwell:

The LLE (low level exception) is also known as the million dollar exception, however the correct term is the Bi-Annual Exception. You can use it every second year.

We only have the Bi-Annual left now. It allows for a maximum first year contract of $1.747 million with (I believe) 8% raises.
