He set an Orlando SL record for most rebounds in game with 18 and most blocks a couple of games back with 6. He may be summer league MVP .

I really like Siva but I don't how we can waste a roster spot on one more PG. He's chances are probably close to zero without Stuckey being bought out which seems unlikely and even in that case he's far from a lock with three PGs still on the roster and only BK tradable. I sure hope he ends up on the roster.

A lot of fun to watch. Miami featured a couple of guys who can sky, and we had Drummond and Mitchell in to match. Siva looked a lot better in this one vs. the Boston game, the only other game I have watched so far. Siva hit a jumper when left unguarded, hit a free throw, made some layups, dished plenty of assists, and was part of several steals.

Mitchell capped off a fine game by dunking the ball back in off a miss by Lucious with 1.7 seconds to go to give us the win. (on the flip side, Mitchell and Drummond were there while Miami got about 4 rebounds and finally got the shot to go to put us down 1 just the play before - but that was a rarity as Drummond had just under 20 rebounds - and scored more than 20.)

Siva connected for about 7 assists, I think at least half of those to Drummond for dunks. Lucious had a clutch pull up for us in that last 2 minutes.

English helped out down the stretch run by getting to the hoop for scores. The only outside shot he made was a nice evading move to get the shot off, but he traveled so it did not count. (Has he had any good games I missed. Anyway, I say a guy who basically sat out a season for coaches decision should not get judged so fast. However, since we just picked up Billups today, the odds seem to be getting longer for English. I will do a rotation in another thread on that.)

Evans was the guy I could not think of the last report I did. Today he did not do much.

Biggest impression of the game, for anyone just casually watching, Pope is at the line all day, and knocking down his free throws. He did have the big transition 3 as we clawed back to win. Sweet.

Just for clarity, the unit that won the game down the stretch, was Lucious, English, KCP, Mitchell, and Drummond.

Again, this was great fun to watch, especially our 2nd half comeback (much of which was with Siva running a good show, though Lucious was in there at crunch time with Siva getting his ankle checked on.)

Tomorrow is the last day of Orlando and the first day of Vegas. There are 9 games total, going every 2 hours from the Pistons/Heat 8am game until the Bobcats/Spurs 10pm game.

Are the Pistons playing for last place? How many teams are on this thing? I bet the guys are having trouble sleeping tonight.

    Sheed might miss the tip.

I was grabbing clips for a highlight reel and it all boiled down to the Drummond / Siva show ft. Andre Drummond.

English showed some nice handles and passing and plays smart basketball but he never showed any burst of speed or power. No stroke, no power. I really hope he finds a place in the league.

Pope did pretty well but definitely impressed me on the defensive end when he came over the screen and cut his man off from the base line. he did that at least twice. Its hard to watch him defend off ball so I can't comment.

Mitchell is sure growing on me. He's raw but he makes good decisions on the pass, can put it on the floor some and does the dirty work.

I thought Drummond showed better footwork but still doesn't know how to seal his man out. I thought I was seeing a quantum leap in his post game but its actually a contrast from his 2nd game where he was terrible. When he went back to the inside game vs. screwing around on the high post, he was a beast. Showed a nice pass to Mitchell from the high post.

Siva made a definite case to make the team. he got caught in the more times in this game than in the rest of SL. Really got the team grounded and settled when it could have dipped into chaos. The guy gets more clutch as the stakes gets higher. It is uncanny.

Overall its an exciting team. I think we had a fabulous off season and this early look at the prospects is certainly encouraging.
