I think this is an excellent move. Kuester's got almost two decades of NBA experience, he's from the Dean Smith / Larry Brown school, and he won a championship with us in '04. What's not to like?
We fired Larry Brown. But I guess if Kuester doesn't need any major bladder surgeries, he'll be OK by me.
I can't believe a disciple of Larry Brown is getting pegged as an offense oriented coach by fans and media alike just because he happened to do that last year and last year only. Q's response to that insinuation during his presser was worth the price of admission by itself. If these reporters were worth a hill of beans they would have gotten ahold of LB4LB and asked him what he thought of Q's defensive principles.
I wasn't aware that John Kuester already has COACHED Rodney Stuckey. He was the coach for the sophomores. 2009 NBA All-Star Game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia They did win the game. :D
Cleveland Cavaliers second-year forward Darnell Jackson still exhibits energy of a rookie - cleveland.com I wonder if he realizes that he's not going to have Bron and won't get much love from the refs any more?
Oh, he will be under pressure....make no mistake about that. He has been an X/O man for many years. These guys bring structure and I have never underestimated them. I wonder about Hill. Different personality than K, which is good. K will have to let go of the many comfort zones and start dealing with the lasting vestiges of Rip/Tay. Plus he needs to counterbalance the overt expectations his boss has of Stuckey. Stuckey has to find a way to personally get over the inconsistencies shown not only from himself (youthful expectedness) and his last three coaches...but zoning out the privilege status JD has anointed him with. Time he gets tough with himself. He needs to develop understanding that a PG is always involved with analytics. How the movement of patterns are displaced on the floor, both defensively and offensively. This will be all tacit knowledge reactions on his part while on the floor. Valuable PG's are made off the floor. Believe it or not, the questions asked toward him and channeling outward are important. The thin shell of cohesiveness is much thinner in today's locker room. Expectations and knowledge of internal and external sources are so many beds of coal. The hidden value is knowing and using the culture that surrounds you. Question: What are the three critical factors in knowledge management? Answer: Culture, culture, culture. Bob Buckman, president, chairman and CEO of Bulab Holdings, Inc.

I figured that Kuester and Brown will be reunited...so here's some humor from the "Kuester is hired" thread. Also interesting to re-read first impressions by the PF membership...
Actually, the ownership group placing a moratorium on roster transactions is what did Johnny-Q in. I read this on the internet and the internet never lies.
Billiam, even going back to Flipper (maybe even Brown...but probably not Tablecloth) you have always been a coaches best advocate. I have no clue what kind of coach Kuester is. Seems like he could improve his communication...but then again under those particular circumstances they wouldn't allow him to do so. Anyhow, I do think you're right. It all goes back to the previous owner and Dumars. Karen maybe has an excuse. She wasn't SUPPOSED to know how to run a team (although it does seem like she promised the old man to do the team right). Maybe she finally did. I don't see what else she could have done. No bidders. But I digress... Dumars IS getting paid big bucks to know what he is doing. Were his hands tied? Could he have built a winner otherwise? I doubt it. Even IF his hands WERE tied, it sure seems to me like he made some dumb moves. Bill, what's with the clover leaf avatar?
As a youth basketball coach and observer of tons of high school and college games, I know firsthand that coaches get too much blame when things go wrong. Sometimes, they get too much credit when things go right. If Low ever had a podshow again, I would love to talk about it. I created my 4-leaf clover avatar for the lottery, but it didn't work. Time for a new avatar, I guess.
