Wow. The reputed 5 year 75M contract offered to Lewis from Orlando could cause huge ripples in Detroit. C-note can logically demand a far larger deal than whats been proposed to be on the table. If that happens and Detroit ups the ante, don't look for Amir to be seen in a Pistons jersey. At what price does C-note become part of a sign-n-trade deal? I don't think he'd leave Detroit high and dry the way Wallace did a year ago, but I do think he's gonna want something far closer to the Rashard deal which is essentially 50% more than whats on the table now. I like C-note, but not enough to see him inked to a deal that looks like the reputed Rashard deal. Too great a cost long-term. Deciding to keep C-note in a Pistons uniform may require seriously off-loading the contracts of at least 2 core players. Should that happen, we have passed over the point of critical mass and will officially be in the rebuilding mode. Can you say, hello 2003..
Here a story that Zeke is persuing Ron Artest from Sacramento. Artest would give the Knicks a very formitable starting line-up. DEAL MAY OPEN DOOR FOR ISIAH TO MAKE A RUN AT ARTEST | By MARC BERMAN | New York Knicks
"Armed with two new trade pawns in the expiring contracts of Dan Dickau and Fred Jones, ...and a new edict that character no longer matters...." "Thomas had stayed clear of his former player because of his list of violent transgressions that soured owner James Dolan. With the acquisition of troubled Zach Randolph, the character issue is dead." Sometimes the Post can be pretty funny.
Bloggers at SuperSonicSoul are reporting a rumor that the Sonics are working a deal to trade Chris Wilcox and Luke Ridnour to Detroit for Richard Hamilton. Not sure if there is much behind it, but they were on top of the Rashard Lewis to Orlando deal. Supersonicsoul: The unofficial blog of the Seattle Supersonics and nattering nabobs of negativity.
I can't really see how this trade makes sense for Detroit... unless there is a huge shake up on the way.
I dunno Warthog. I pulled a quick glance at Wilcox's stats, and he put up some decent single game numbers last year. 30+ points 20+ board stuff. Perhaps Joe thinks he is about to break out or something. Gives us that Center we've been looking for. Albeit another 6'10" power forward type center....but, hey.
NBA.com : Chris Wilcox Info Page Wow, check his game by game stats out. First thing that shows up is he isn't consistent, but neither are his minutes, which sounds familiar to me. Second thing that shows up....wow. This kid really puts up [STRIKE]good games[/STRIKE] scratch that, GREAT games. If he could get it together he could be a 20 and 10 guy in this league, and I'm talking easy with about 5 s's. If the trade actually did go down it may actually have a chance of turning in Detroit's favor.
Joe pulling of this type of deal is like going to "Odd Lots" for your living room furniture.........................
Durant is their PF. They are going to give Robert Swift a run at center because he's pretty darn good. This makes sense from both sides. Except Ridnour, in which case Billups is probably gone.
Assuming Joe gets Amir for 3 mil or less. How would letting Chauncey walk for nada help to position us for next years free agent run? Gilbert Arenas help us? Elton Brand help us?
yeah thats the thing about wilcox. inconsistent is his middle name. he will have a 20-13 night then disappear for 2 games. trust me, he was on my fantasy team! just another one of those players that you think is gonna break out at any time but never does. no way i'd do this deal.
I smell a grudge. There's always a possibility he'll finally breakout. He's only 24 years old. Odds are he breaks out the minute you trade him to another fantasy team. If he becomes a Piston please do that for us webz.
Grant Hill is a Sun: Grant Hill has decided to sign with the Phoenix Suns to hopefully hitch a ride to an NBA title, leaving the Orlando Magic after seven injury-racked, mostly unfulfilled seasons. He will sign with the Suns for the $1.2 million veteran's exception, which is all Phoenix was willing to offer. link: Grant Hill leaving Orlando Magic for Suns -- OrlandoSentinel.com
That should be very interesting considering that Durant can't even press 185 lbs and avoiding contact at all costs on both offense and defense when he played in college.
