I watched a lot of Sonics basketball this season. (you know, living in Seattle and all) I think alot of the inconsistency of Wilcox is directly related to the inconsistency of Ridnour and Watson, and also by their free-flowing offensive system. When Ray or Rashard would heat up, they would take most of the shots, leaving the other guys with some deflated numbers. I think in a more disciplined offense, with a guard who can find him when he's open, Chris Wilcox is good for 17 and 10 every night. If this trade happens, consider the Pistons team blown up, with 'Sheed on his way out too.
I was waiting for you to pipe in on Wilcox, Linwood. I know you are a fan of his Yeah, Ive always liked him. Unlike Webz, I was happy with him on my fantasy team and only traded him to you because I needed to do that in order to complete the package deal we made. He was a bit inconsistent, but he had some really good games to make up for it. I dunno how that transfers to real life though.
What kind of dude is Wilcox? I recall some scrapes with the law regarding gun possession in the past. Is he a professional or a knucklehead?
Well Wilcox would certainly fill the hole we have in the middle. Ridnour made $2.4 last year Wilcox made $6.3 last year Total of $8.7 Rip made $9.1 So it seems like dollar wise it would work. It would fill the center hole and give us an NBA point guard with proven experience and a pretty darn good career assists to turnover ratio and a pretty decent 3 point shot. They are also both young. I like this trade.
I agree it will be interesting. If you think not being able to bench press 185 lbs. is going to bother this kid in the NBA you are going to be very surprised.
I wouldn't mind Wilcox in a Piston uniform, but not at the expense of Rip. Can't we throw them Davis, Dupree, Murray and 2012 second round draft pick for him and Rid?
It bothered him in college so it will all the more so bother him in the NBA. Time of course will tell but I saw him play several times and was not impressed by him as far as a potential NBA player goes because the first thing I look for in a potential NBA player are defense and toughness, both of which he has neither of. Let's see how this falls out before we get too carried away by differences of opinion. I think that Durant will do very well on offense, because Stern and his group are already working overtime to make him the next young rising star over Oden. So I think he will get a lot of early on foul calls sending him to line a lot. After that NBA teams will play matador defense against him which allow will him to score, because he can definitely shoot the rock. But on defense he is going to have a big problem unless he masters the flop. I actually like Horford more than I do Durant. Horford is one tough dude and can play defense.
what number is used for the cap if we do the trade during the summer? Or maybe we throw Nazir in and make it about even salary wise and they get a big man to replace Wilcox. That makes sense to me. Can we all imagine the following 5 Pistons on the court at the same time. JMax , AJ, Wilcox, Ridnour and RS. Boy, talking about going young and some pretty good talent there to boot.
We will see what happens in the NBA. The kid is 19 years old!!! He is not going to come into the league with all the skills needed to be a superstar. However, he will be pretty damn close. Horford is 21 with three years of college and two NCAA Championships. I wouldn`t be surprised if Durant actually plays some in the backcort with the Sonics. Playing tough inside, being physical, battling in the paint is not Durants game, and never will be.
I feel the same way. Wilcox is a good player with potential to be great, but Hamilton is great right now. I would compare Ridnour's game to Arroyo; both guys certainly have skills, but there is something missing from their game that keeps them from being starter quality point guards. I think it may be an inconsistent jump shot. The only way I see this happening is if Chauncey walks and Trader Joe has something worked out for Sheed or Dice to bring back a two.
J-Rich not to happy about becoming a Bobcat.................. Charlotte Observer | 07/05/2007 | Trade stunned and<br> steamed Richardson
Lol, I guess your vision is unlimited, as in future lottery picks!!! That lineup is a good one if you are talking about rebuilding, If you are talking about competing next year, i`ts a lottery lineup, even in the east.
