Here is my wish list for the summer. I would be very interested in hearing what others would do. I suggest, or ask, that each person list what they would do. After a couple of days of that, lets open it up to comments on each others posts.

    1)We do not sign Webber.

    2)Hunter retires to coach

    3) Mohammed is traded, bought out, or let go.

    4)We re-sign Davis.

5)Coach Saunders is fired, along with his staff.

6)Flip Murray is released, traded, or bought out.

    7)Dyess is traded.

    8)Dupree is released.

    9)Sign Corliss Williamson.

10)Start out the season with these guys on the roster: Billups, Rip, Tay, Sheed, Jason Maxiell, Stuckey, Afflalo, Mejia, Amir Johnson, Dale Davis, Corliss Williamson, Samb.

Your ideas besides a trade create dead cap space. They would be the worst possible outcome.

    No love for Mike Curry?

Corliss is 3 years older than the last ineffective minutes he played for us. I would think that you of all people would want to look forward, not back into the past.

    1)We do not sign Webber.
    This is a definite possibility
    2)Hunter retires to coach
    That's a slight possibility
    3) Mohammed is traded, bought out, or let go.
Nobody wants him, no point of buying him out he could help if just a bit
    4)We re-sign Davis.
    Maybe
5)Coach Saunders is fired, along with his staff.
    Won't happen
6)Flip Murray is released, traded, or bought out.
Noone wants him. If one of the guards is injured we have nobody with experience to step in.
    7)Dyess is traded.
    Most likely won't happen.
    8)Dupree is released.
    Won't happen.
    9)Sign Corliss Williamson.
    Won't happen.
10)Start out the season with these guys on the roster: Billups, Rip, Tay, Sheed, Jason Maxiell, Stuckey, Afflalo, Mejia, Amir Johnson, Dale Davis, Corliss Williamson, Samb.
Samb is not ready, Mejia would be lucky to play in NBDL.

Yes you don't want to buy Mohammed out with 4 years to go. If anything trade him for a shorter term contract and buy that out like Portland did with Randolph.

I agree that Dupree and Murry are ependable. Dupree more so than Murry, Dupree has been a waste of space and he is not getting any better. If it comes down to needing a roster spot for one of the projects then cut one of both.

    Hunter retires? I hope so.

Cweb? I would like him back for depth on a cheap 1-2 year deal. A Flip Murry type of contract.

McDyess - At least don't extend him right now. Let him finish out his contract and decide next summer. Basically right now we are losing Davis, Webber ( most likely) and only gaining Amir.

Fire Flip? I would support that but its not going to happen so no sense dwelling on it. I do like the Staff he assembled so I would like to keep them. - make Curry the head coach. Or Laimbeer.

Thanks for the feedback, but to you and to the others that have responded so far, I am not looking for your feedback at the moment, but rather a list of moves you would make. Thanks in advance to anyone who would kindly share their thoughts on what they would do.

No thanks. I will stick with Joe D. as President of Pistons Basketball Operations, because he is far more qualified to hold the position.

Thanks for giving it a go though.

I defer to Joe D. because he is more qualified, but thanks for the offer.

Agree with all but Double D and CorlisW. Will need to probably send Samb and Samjia to the D league, so keep Dice and Cwebb and Naz or Flip jr. Add one more vet via the trade of the latter..

I thought thats what I was doing? I know what you mean but you did kind of set the template on this one. Most of us don't have that clear cut of a picture right now.

Ex. Samb, Mejia - I have no idea what to do with those guys right now.

Going to be a tough call with Samb though.

That is what I want to know, what, if any, moves should the Pistons do at the moment. This can range from stand pat, trade a starter, etc. I do not want the thread to be about my ideas, but rather a survey of what is on everyone's mind as far as what they would do this summer if they were the GM. Saying I really don't know is a perfectly ok response too.

    Chris Mihm

    1. I am not sure if it is known whether he is available to

    A. Play this coming year
    B. Be traded if he is available to play this coming year.

He is more foul prone than Nazr. Plus he wouldn't fit in for a number of reasons.

Mihm is a FA. He's 27. He made over $4mil last season. He missed last year with injury.

The Bulls, Suns and Grizzlies are interested in Mihm, so there are teams willing to look at him.. may not fit in Detroit, but fly him out and see...

I believe that the Suns are over the cap so it would cost them double to sign him.

Wow guys I'm really disappointed. Lee actually had a creative idea, and nobody can deliver. He's basically saying let's play fantasy GM, but all you guys know how to do is criticize. C'mon fam' let's have some fun and do some thinking.

    my GM moves:

    - retire hunter as quick as humanly possible.
    - sign samb and send him to the nbdl for the season
    - sign webber to the minimum (whether or not we use him)
    - re-sign davis for the minimum

that's all i can think of right now.

Two major things have been accomplished in signing Billups and AJ....Delfino has been moved and Mike Curry has returned. So there isn't a lot left.

I'd like to see DD come back if he's not going to decorate the end of the bench...if not bring C-Webb back. (If neither of those two work out I would pursue Ratko Varda.)

If there is a way for Lindsey to give up his roster spot...the time has come for that.

Flip Saunders should hit the road...he has been a failure judging from the results he has ended up with.

Who knows if Samb is ready to claim the 15th roster spot? I can't say.

We seem well stocked with guards but if we have a few go down with injuries I'm keeping Pepe Sanchez' phone number on speed dial.

If I'm in the GM chair....hmmmmmmm here goes
    1. I'm signing Rueben Patterson to a 2 year deal, as the backup SF.
    2. I trade Hunter,Flip Jr., and Dupree to Washington for Brendan Haywood. Even though I do not like Haywood it does add another 7'er to the lineup who plays pretty good when motivated, he can push Nazr, and open up trade possibilities. I'm not comfortable shipping Nazr and leaving us completly centerless.
    3. Dumping 3 for 1 gives us the roster space to bring on Mejia and Samb, I get a good look at them in pre-season and then send them straight to Ft Wayne.
    4. Now that we have both Nazr and Hay-no-good, we now have $5mill worth of trade foddle, depending on what I see in the season I can determine if one of those contracts needs to be moved for whatever we need PG, C, Vet etc

1- re-sign Dale Davis as my dirty work doing starter or backup C.

2- recycle NazMo straight up for B. Haywood. (I like Haywood in our unselfish environment. He is cheaper, younger, bigger, more atheletic)

3- Saimb (sp) to D. League.

4- I play AJ & JMax side by side to find out if toghether they present bigger matchup problems for the opponent than any traditional FA SF.

5- Encourage my #1 unit to play a grind it out style, and my #2 unit to run the legs off our opponents. Try and force other teams to play their starters extra minutes.

6- Micromanage, micromanage, and micromanage some more until I am satisfied with the result.
