Is it just me or do the Pistons typically play the worst/least fan-friendly schedule in the L? This game will be their 2nd game in 6 GD days. The Lions play more often than this!

One of the two Pistons games I won't ever get a chance to see thanks to the absurd rules of NBALP. Portland is considered a local team for Seattle (which is sacrilegious in an of itself) and therefore it is subject to black out on NBALP. But, no local station broadcasts the game AFAIK either. :yellowprison:

They are nice for us on the West coast, a 7:00 PM game.

Yah, 10 is late...I'll try and make it for the whole game. A nice little nap from 5 to 6 this evening will aid in my longevity.

The NBA needs to come up with a 3rd way to screw Seattle. Maybe Adam Silver has a plan?

Oh wait, I forgot they use Seattle as a potential expansion site to extort their current cities into financing new arenas for them. My fault.

Aside from Trevor Ariza, Jeff Green, Paul George, KD and Nic Batum I haven't seen a SF yet that Josh Smith can't handle!

Another coaching loss. He decided to put in CV, who contributed nothing pretty much. He did make a layup off a drive in though. Just no defense.

Bynum did not do real terrible. But a waste of time for him to be out there. He did score some, dish some assists. And disorganized the team. However, it was not him who surrounded him with a hopeless unit in the 4th quarter. He did connect to Drummond a couple of times. Billups only played 14 minutes. If Billups can only play 14 minutes, no way he should be starting.

Smith did not score after getting 11 in the first quarter. Drummond was pretty awesome with a 16 /16. Monroe was pretty awesome scoring plenty and getting 8 bounds. In all, our inside scoring for sure will continue to lead the league after tonight.

Jennings scored 28, seemingly most in crunch time as he tried to get us back in the game. In all, our starters did fine, at least four of them, and the fifth, just did not play that much. Billups did hit a couple of shorter shots. Still no 3's from him. And still nothing at the basket from Billups. He still looks very rusty indeed. And no plays directed by Billups. Pretty much wasting him as a player out there.

Our perimeter D was horrid. Jennings, except for going after steals, which he is good at at least, is not a good defender, and Billups is too old and slow to help. Then they bring in Stuckey who can't navigate picks plus Bynum who is too short to even affect shots. Portland does have the talent to hit outside shots, you got to give them that, but if you don't defend at all, you can expect them to stay in the groove.

Singler is hopefully too small and weak a player to be part of an NBA front line. By far, his presence as the only sub for our front line had a lot more to do with loss than any other factor. I will complain about the guard's defense, but I will scream "NO WAY" when asked if Singler belongs ever playing at small forward for us.

No Datome. I guess he was just brought in to lose one game for us. I note Harrellson was not dressed, along with Siva.

Smith took very few shots compared with normal. But Monroe had it going so well for sure the ball was suppose to go to him as often as possible. And it did. So we did stick to the game plan. However, the idea of planning to give the other team all the outside shot freedom they could ever wish for, while simply hoping they would start missing, not the way to plan a game at all.

What did we learn from this game? Absolutely nothing. Seen this replay many, many times. Good young players wasting away on the bench, while guys who can't play their positions get to play. CV does not belong on the team at all. Singler could play some shooting guard, like he did last year - but the seemingly sacred law that Bynum must be forced into the rotation stops that.

Stuckey had an ok game. He too was out there when the coach foisted a Singler, Drummond, CV front court on him and Bynum. But Stuckey also called his own number way too many times. And even though he did hit a triple in this game, for the most part he is a horrid outside shooter who should never ever play shooting guard for us. All us fans pretty much know this. How many losses before our coach learns this.

I will say again, coach has to either go with, well, anyone other than Bynum as the backup point to Jennings. You can choose Stuckey, Billups, or Siva, and do way better in any case. And shooting guard? Obvious. Play Pope. Maybe Singler could get a few minutes of back up there. And for small forward, play Mitchell. Stay strong all game long on the front line.

Good nite. Work comes early in the am.
