I'd like to have 4 franchise players in my starting lineup..

We'd still need someone to to block, rebound and intimidate at the 5..Kevin Garnett or Duncan at the 5 along with that lineup would go 82-0, unless MC calls the plays lol

Villaneuva is not a 5 and neither is Amare....But either of them is an upgrade over Sheed.

Amare would make a servicable 5 more so than Villenuava. Remember, we haven't had a true center here since Bison Dele.

Amare is serviceable at the 5? Your team looked like a fantasy team.. Why all the sudden did you downgrade from franchisee players to serviceable?......Why wouldnt u go with another franchise player at the 5?

I would take Amare over Villaneuva any day, if this was baseball and salary wasn't an issue....
Trying to make it somewhat realistic with Villaneuva....

    Good point.

My NEW Pistons squad looks like this:

    PG - Magic Johnson/Isiah Thomas/Walt Frazier
    SG - Michael Jordan/Oscar Robertson/Jerry West
    SF - Larry Bird/LaBron James/Julius Erving
    PF - Bill Russell/Moses Malone/Karl Malone
    C - Wilt Chamberlain/Shaquille O'Neal/Hakeem Olajuwon

    Bench "scrubs" (11 & 12 spots) - Charles Barkley & Pete Maravich

    82-1 (nobody's perfect)

I'm not sure how serious you are with this lineup but most of these guys are retired and too old (or too dead) to play next year. This team (except for Lebron, Shaq and Clyde Frazier) would get run out of the gym.

    I'm jus sayin...

They may be past their prime, but they're oozing Piston DNA.

Trade for a marque front court guy like Bosh or Stoudemire. Draft another but at 15 he is more of a project. Kwame stays. Stuckey gets better. Sammie Meija or Afflalo wins the starting SF spot after Tay is traded. Sign a couple of decent bench guys.

Starters: Stuckey, Rip, Afflalo/Meija, KB, Bosh.

    record - 48-34

Can we make room for Rodney Stuckey?

    C - Dan Gadzuric/Othella Harrington/Amir
    PF - Max/Mike Sweetney/Kenny Thomas
    SF - Afflalo/Mejia
    SG - Stuckey/Walter Sharpe/Charlie Bell
    PG - Bynum/Ty Edny

Plus the # 15 pick (Steph Curry) and that Landry kid from Wisconsin.

This team has a little bit of everything. 30-52.

Sounds good to me, but I wouldn't want Afflalo to start at SF... too small IMO. I'd pursue Marvin Williams to play small forward in the event that Prince gets traded (and hopefully he does).

Read a report on the Boston Globe that the Hawks may not be able to keep Marvin William and is being dangled in a sign-and-trade for cash..
Kings hope lottery will be the ticket - The Boston Globe
