Is it possible that the Davidson family is going to sell the team and Joe is unloading as many contracts as he can to prime it for a buyer?

Under this scenario, he won't use the cap space for anything.

    Interesting notion.

But wouldn't the Celtics trade have accomplished that in spades?

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Joe D. knows a lot more about Capp Spayce than the average person and the potential that Capp Spayce brings here is limitless. I think Joe could dump the entire team for Capp Spayce. Capp works dirt cheap...almost for nothing. Then Joe could take the money he saved on Capp and use it on just about any free agent on the market five years down the line. Man, I'm getting so excited thinking about Capp Spayce.

Yeah, good point. Except, we'd be stuck with Rondo. Maybe there is a bigger dump possible?

It's probably not reality, but I thought it should be considered.

I wonder what the current owners think of the asset. How much of it was just Bill's hobby. How capable and interested are the remaining family members? What sort of restrictions does Dumars have to operate under?

Capp Spayce plays better defense than Ben Gordon, so maybe that is why Joe hasn't pulled the trigger on that deal yet.

CS also fouls less than Amir.

Stack for one year plus a 1st rounder works if the target is Marvin Williams for less than Tay's deal...
Maybe Twiggy is the future Tay...opps don't want to get Clouds hair raised
When they opened the Palace doors the wind draft landed Daye in the rafters.. that's the closest he ever got to the legends :^)

From the combine Spayce is stronger than Daye.

There isn't a team in the league that wouldn't kill to have Capp Spayce this summer. The Pistons are very fortunate. We better hang on to him. Capp Spayce is the future of our franchise.

Forget the Bad Boys and Going to Work. There is a new kid in town. Welcome to motown Capp Spayce.

My hairs aren't quivering in the tiniest bit.

Apparently others are though, when I point out that they are more concerned with pumping out emotion induced one liners than truth.

Point out all of the times a fundamental attribution error has been committed by a fan and all of a sudden everyone that has made the error themselves steps up and takes offense.

I agree. Selling must be a possibility on some level.

If you were in the market, could you want a decent team under the cap with players locked in for a while or a dog with boatloads of flexibility you could put your stamp on?

We can get more for Prince than that, I think. Bad move.

We really should put in an offer. So what if it gets rejected... or ignored. At the very worst, it would be cool to say that we tried to buy the team.

Anybody here have a spare LLC or shell corp that we can use for the acquisition entity?

We can probably get some seller financing, but we'll need to come up with a substantial equity piece. We'd obviously have to lowball them.
