Think short term until the economy recovers and he could build downtown

Who can tell when economy recovers? Look at Japan and the lost decade. Not sure he's willing to wait that long.

If the economy shows little sign of recovering...he can just stay at the Palace. Seems like the perfect hedge against the unknown.

Christ, why did i decide to come here today?

Joe has realized who our new franchise player is; Capspace, and he's going to surround him with role players named capspace1,capspace2, capspace3,etc.

    Capspace for MVP!!

But Palace sucks for hockey, that's the problem. Wings have some of the best hockey fans in the nation, and rewarding them with a bad rink is not the way to go.

I don't think primary concern is about rewarding fans in this economy. The Wings had available tickets throughout this past season after winning in 08.

I watched many Piston games at the Silverdome...arguably one of the worst pro basketball venues ever. The Palace is much more accommodating for hockey.

It sure is. It's just that Red Wings are not necessarily being completely run as a business that is there to just make money.
