A decent spot player like S King. I'd give them both a drive in games to rest Joel. And give the other team something to prepare for. Kitna didn't impress me against Pitt. in last years playoffs.
From what I've read, they're planning on running King through the mini camps and whatnot, and keep him around, maybe practice squad or something. As a 4th QB. Orovlovsky will stay the #3. King is just an insurance policy, from what I understand. A QB who knows the basics of the system.
Heard on the radio this morning from Tom Kawalski that Joey Harrington is most likely gone. Kitna becomes #1. http://www.mlive.com/sports/
Joel wants out. I'm thinking Martz "bokked" if he couldn't control the O personnel. He may have told Joel he can't gaurranty the starter spot.
For Joey's sake, I hope they do release him. This organization is such a joke. Normally this time of year fills me with great hope that "this will be the year". Not this time. The Lions had loads of room under the cap and the best we can come up with is stockpiling 12 backup QBs, yet another WR a blocking TE and resigned some of our own underperforming players. Meanwhile every other team is scooping up all of the top flight talent, making trades to improve or signing the best G in the game to offer sheets that are near impossible to match. I really don't know why I'm still a Lions fan?!?!?!
