Is there a way to Sign and Trade him for CV or JM? Three year deal. That gives us a starter to groom Knight and when his contract is up we could offer Knight the bigger payday.

I'd rather see AD in this deal since we have a jam at SF, but his contract is less then 3 million.

Maybe a 3 players (CV, JM, and AD = 16.5M) for 2 players (Session @ 6.5M, PF at 8M, and Draft Pick) trade. THAT would leave room for Ben Wallace.

    Any takers?

You think one team is going to take on Charlie, Maxiel, and Daye? Dumars would win executive of the year before the season even started.

The Mavs are going after everybody and they're getting snubbed by everybody. It's time to gut that team.

Detroit actually got more than TWICE the amount of players under contract. Poor Dirk.

That's a pretty ugly roster there, except for Dirk of course. And even Dirk at $20M is fairly unattractive.

I read that Chris Douglas-Roberts was practicing with the pistons but he won't be a part of the Summer League team.

If you keep missing out on the right players you gonna end up with the wrong ones.

I feel bad for Dirk too. His Finals performance when they won it all was one for the ages. It looks like he won't get another chance.

Then again, you'll never know. Cuban might pull off something crazy like signing Howard next summer and trading for CP3.

I didn't mean to. I was riffing Cuban's "Its better to miss the right guy than sign the wrong guy" or something.

Houston is battling Dallas for Sessions. This guy wants to start. As far as starting PG goes, the Pistons are going in the direction of BK7.

I'd rather have Jerry Bayless; could be the steal of the FA class.

^Like Bill said, Sessions wants to start. And we're not signing anyone right now; full roster.

If I were Joe, I would think about this one....having Sessions start and bringing Knight off the bench sounds better than Knight starting and bringing in Bynum as his back up.

Knight can eventually take over the starting reigns and if anything...the guy who is the hottest will get the most PT...

No. Sessions can't shoot and you want to pair him with Stuckey? Give BK7 the reigns, he has done NOTHING to warrant a trip to the bench in favor of Ramon Sessions.

You can't start a guy for a whole season ( esp a rookie ) and then bench him in favor of someone else. May as well trade him as he will never re-sign.

Never been in favor of "grooming" myself. Best way for someone to get better is to play and what do we have to lose now?

Only time I see grooming working is when you have a star at the spot and the new guy has to earn his... but like it was said... you can't demote Knight unless your bringing in an All star PG to start at this point.
