Here's the thread to acknowledge the powerfoward/center who put the Pistons over the hump. Mr. 6-11 from the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, North Carolina Rasheed Wallace!

I just believe it's 100% sure he will either retire or go to another team.

Maybe we should hold off on this thread? I'm not convinced ye that Sheed is done with the Pistons after this year.

I think that Sheed will be back in a < roll.

I think he'll hold off until the end of the summer to see what the team is going to look like and then he'll weigh his options.

I hope Joe gives him a reason to come back inspired!

I think it is time for Sheed to go. Change is a good thing. However, nothing will matter if we do not change coaches and coaching staff. Enough of Sheed, I am a fan, but it is time to move on. Go Pistons!!!!

People say we will miss Sheed when he is gone. There will be a lot to miss but I think its better to have a player who is less talented but will give it 100% on a gamely basis. Sheed is the poster child for the playing when you want to and listening to the coaches when you want attitude that has made us a one and done team.

What good is it to have enough talent to win it all if you can never get there?

The story of his career is that he could have been one of the top PF's in the game if he wanted to be. I would rather we kept Okur to be honest.

An epigraph for Rasheed: It was a nice 4 months/championship parade

Man. Tough crowd! I agree with everyone's general assessment of Sheed's weaknesses. I even don't mind seeing him go.

But to say the only thing to thank him for is the 4 months and championship seems to overlook a lot of other really enjoyable moments, at least for me.

I think we can acknowledge those moments AND say there should've been more, that he could've been more and that that's sort of a shame.

The genius of Sheed was that he only gave you enough to tease you, but it was also enough to keep you coming back for more.

Are you saying that Sheed has the work ethic of a stripper?

He always tried on defense. Sheed does not like to be scored on.

Strippers are just sexually liberated capitalists. I'm a fan of capitalism.

He usually tries on defense. He's just not a high motor guy.

He doesn't really have to assert himself on defense. It's the only aspect of his game that suits him. All he has to do is stay in front of his man.

He's reactionary. He'll let a guy wear himself out and Sheed had the know-how to know when to to pull the chair/stick the arm up/etc. That's why Dwight Howard struggles, because Sheed knows whats coming. He's a student of the game. He doesn't have to do anything. Against younger and dumber guys, they contain themselves. Against KG though, Sheed always loses because KG has the know-how AND the motor.

Problem is, if there something that Sheed has to go out and get, he won't do it. Unless you count posting up a SF, or waiting at the arc for the feed for 3.

Sheed, I love you man. And if the refs hadn't been on the take when Portland was playing the Lakers, you would have had another ship.
