This is a good deal for both teams. The buck are far from a contender, and the $15 million dollars will open up a lot of cap space. However, you have got to convince players to play in Milwaukie. For the Spurs, this gives them a nice starting 4 of current or former All-Stars. They add another role player or two they are right back in the mix. Wish I could say that about us.
That ain't good since it means we have to dig our hopes on landing Sessions; plus, RIP (if he stays) is going to remain a non- factor now 4 instead of 2 times a season
So the Spurs could concievably field of starting line-up of: Parker Ginobilli Jefferson Dyess or Frye at the MLE Duncan The Spurs are an instant contender for the WC Title.
I wonder why JoeD didn't offer a package of AJ, Kwame and JMax, they would have been just as good as those 3 the Spurs gave em. Hopefully he somehow manages a trade like that one too.
You often wonder when you see these kind of deals, if Joe has received any offers that were just to good to turn down. (like the Gasol deal two years ago.) or that GM's don't see anybody on our roster worthy of trading for so he doesn't get the decent offers???
Re Richard Jefferson Traded to Spurs Duncan, Parker, Manu, Mason, Jefferson, is not enough. I. Will bet the ranch the Spurs land someone else to make them a contender in the West.
Re: Re Richard Jefferson Traded to Spurs True. But healthy Manu and another big make it a different story.
Re: Re Richard Jefferson Traded to Spurs Bingo! It's that other big that's missing. All he has to do is be able to rebound and defend.
Re: Re Richard Jefferson Traded to Spurs Need to take some pressure and minutes from Duncan, who's not a spring chicken anymore.
True dat. I always wonder where's the difference; why of all things the Spurs and not a team like the Hawks, Raptors or whoever pull of such a deal. Or, 2 years ago, the Lakers, also a team that was already a competitor.
