Not really a Pistons topic, but interesting nonetheless. Artest lives in a different world than the rest of us.
I agree with Ron. When someone starts something with you, there is really no other option than to go ape on a random third party. You gotta protect your manhood.
And when the someone who started something with you is big and scary, going ape on a third party becomes an especially valuable option.
I think we can all learn a lot from Ron Ron. I know for me personally, the next time I take a cheap shot at someone at the end of a blowout game on the road, and the guy comes after me, I'll ask myself W.W.R.D.? I'll take a second to ponder that question before relaxing on the announcers table, grabbing the headphones and pretending to conduct an interview while all heck is breaking loose around me. I find that's the best way to defuse that situation.
Interesting community service sentence he got: Talking to children. I wonder whose idea that was? I'd much rather have seen him in an orange jumpsuit picking up trash on I-94. We could ALL throw drinks at him then.
ROFL Talk about poetic justice!
Then Ron would have no choice but to beat up some dude who dodged his child support payment!
Ain't that the truth... keep him away from our kids... it's like having Michael Jackson as a scout leader in charge of camping trips.
I have to add, however, that after hearing Artest on WDFN yesterday that the Free Press article by Rosenberg (SEE HERE) was poorly written. You can take anyone's comments out of sequence and reprint them to make them sound like a contradictory a*hole, but his radio interview was nothing like this article paints and I was actually surprised. If you didn't hear it go here: http://www.pistonsforum.com/nba-stuff/3816-ron-artest-wdfn-1130am-august-16th-2006-a.html
I agree. I think people just don't see the real Ron. He is never treated fairly. I mean, remember when the Pacers wouldn't give him time off from the NBA season to work on his rap album? That was mean.
RonRon was at the Tigers game tonight sporting a Detroit ballcap.
All is forgiven.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm going to be painted as a Ron Artest apologist after this...and BillLaimbeer will be to blame.
I would like to see that boxing match between Artest and Ben Wallace now that Ben is a Bull.
