The roster is not set yet but it's time for another Rotations thread.

    Depth chart:

    Knight, Siva, Stuckey
    Pope, Kenny
    Smith, Singler, Middler
    GM, Mitch, Chaz, JJ
    Drummond, TRG

A starting lineup of BK, Pope, Smith, GM and Drummond would be the best rebounding lineup in the L and one of the best defensively. Do we play Singler/Middleton 30-36 min at SF and always have Josh at PF when Drum or GM is resting or do we keep them on the floor together?

I start Smith at the 3, because I want the best Defensive/Rebounding team we can put on the floor to start each half to set a tone. But I see Smith getting most of his mins at the 4 covering Monroe/Drummonds rest periods...

I hope that the PG situation is the next spot that is addressed, that needs to be addressed really before the rest of the rotation can be set... I really don't see a few of our young players finding much time though as we move forward. English and JJ are going to be squeezed out of any playing time so hopefully Joe can find them a home where they can get some mins.

By my count we have 14 players under contract if we sign all 3 of our draft picks. We need a true PG so a trade where we send out 2-3 players for 1 incoming would be ideal.

If there are no trades, On opening night I imagine: Knight, Stuckey, Smith, Monroe and Drummond. OUCH!
Hopefully that turns into: Rondo, Pope, Middleton, Smith, Monroe. I start Monroe because Drummond can bring what he brings whether he starts or comes off the bench. A nice 3 wing rotation of Pope, Middleton and Singler would be cool; a 3 Big rotation of Smith, GM and Drum is AMAZING!!! Add in a 12-15mpg backup PG and we're SET!!!!

Imagine midway through the game when we come out with this...

    Bynum
    Pope
    Middleton (or Singler or Villanueva)
    Smith
    Drummond

If Bynum had 2 3-point shooters and 2 alley oop targets, he'd be like Steve Nash in his prime. This is our comeback unit.

I think Siva might end up spending one season in Europe, and Joe signs Bynum to a 1-3 year contract as a back-up. I wouldn't mind signing both Bynum (2 years), and Billups to a 1 year del. Billups should play very limited minutes in the regular season, but be ready for a bigger role in the playoffs.

Also, I think trading for Rondo is Joe's plan A right now.

With our remaining money, our need at PG, Bynum's electric connection with Drummond, and his high character, it would be really strange not to resign Bynum,

I just don't know if I'll be able to hack Will B for another season.....
He just gets on my nerves so bad ( except for his oops to Andre, then I can hack him a little bit)

Not funny if we don't sign him, and then keep Stuckey and CV...sends the wrong message?
Monetary considerations don't matter with this...team chemistry will be affected.

How many backup PG's can do this to Lebron?

How many selfish players have 20 assist games and then downplay it in the post game interview?

If Smith only plays 12-18 mins at SF, is it still our weakest position? We are weak at PG if BK starts but I'm alot more comfortable with 36 mins of BK compared to 36 mins of Singler/Middleton.

Bynum has become Mr Pistons for this group. He earned his way back on this team with his play last season.

He's the only guard they have that can play pick and roll. The Pistons have got to play fast now.

I've always kind of been a fan of Bynum, and if Cheeks is as good at teaching guards as they say, Bynum still has things he can learn to do better.

Bynum is bar none my favorite Piston. He plays hard, he plays bigger than his size, he gets his teammates involved, and he's actually fairly efficient.

I don't know why people don't like him, he was our best guard last year until we acquired Calderon. He's the only one that makes fun plays, he's one of our few iso players, and he was huge towards making Andre look good last year. All those fantastic alley oops pretty much only happen with Will on the court.

I like Knight, but he's not a PG. Will is actually a pretty decent PG and I know no one wants to hear this, but I wouldn't be averse to seeing him run the team for a season.

Plus, the posts from Lee would be amazing.

I couldn't agree with you more. I think the anti-Bynum movement started because he is short, and then turned into a "Bynum Sucks" meme.

Dude plays huge, has a ton of heart, makes the offense click, and as far as I know, he never messed up Coach's desk.

    He's a good person.

he is what he is.... Not a starter on a quality playoff team... BUT, he is a very decent backup on almost any team IMO. The only reason I wouldn't want him back is if we go with Knight, Bynum, Silva set up.... I'd like one elder teacher and don't think Bynum fills that role. That is my only complaint though.

Has Bynum ever really started since he's been here? For whatever reason I can't see him in that role.

Despite the moans and groans Bynum allows them the option of finishing games with Knight at the 2.(Even if Monroe/Smith prevents it.)
