We don't need a running back. We need an O-line. What we have would work with a good O-line. Get the O-line situated then get your QB.
From what little I have seen Roy still has butter fingers even with Romo throwing him the ball. I don't blame Romo for not looking his way when he has TO and Witten to throw to.
As much as I am against drafting offense this year I think Stafford with our #1 pick might not be a bad idea. Or we could wait till Stanton is healthy and see if he pans out. Our other first round pick and the rest of our picks should go to getting an offensive line. If we don't take Stafford or Bradford though I say all Offensive Lineman and Defense. Sucks that we would be ridiculed by everyone if we picked the best overall player in the draft (Michael Crabtree). Would be quite the tandem with him and Calvin Johnson
Although I am not a fan of an 0-16 season, I can never not be a Lions fan because it will be the sweetest victory when they finally win a superbowl. A victory that only a Red Sox fan could understand .....granted I might be in a nursing home by then ;/
Lions mgt seems to think that wideouts can save the day every year at draft time. I've been "done" since 1999.
I feel you. That's what's kept me going this long. The turnaround will be all the more sweet, except, WE'RE GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION!!!! I guess on the bright side, there's no where to go but up now! Unless they add an extra game to the regular season, in which case, we'll likely be the first team to go 0-17. I can't see myself ever being able to cheer for another team, but there's only so much futility I can take. I mean, there isn't even a silver lining or a light at the end of the tunnel.
only 11 games to go for the record... we'd be so close if they hadn't gone and won that game the next to last week last year. so lets say your a decent headcoach out there..... what do you do when the lions call to interview you? 1. hang up 2. laugh then hang up 3. take the job knowing that there isn't a ex lions headcoach with a head coaching job out there. (who was the last lions coach to get a new job?)
George Wilson was the last coach to be hired by another NFL team. He coached the Lions from 1957 (championship season) until 1964. His next head coaching gig was 1966 where he was the first coach of the Miami Dolphins. After 3 sub .500 seasons, he lost his job in 1969 to a Lions assistant coach promoted to Miami's head coaching postiton, who we didn't want (Don Shula).
This is truly unbelievable. No coach has gone from the Lions to another NFL coaching job in over 40 years? We're the bottom of the barrell.
When Wayno was winning they kept stealing our asst coaches. Course we scored 340 pt. one year [3rd best ?] and let the O'coord walk. He's been at Indy ever since.
