I wonder if there's any other information available besides the radio show and Hornets blog...

    :hoops:

NO, because it's all BOGUS!!!! New Orleans won't do anything that won't get them under the Lux Cap.

But this would get them closer. There aren't many teams out there that can take on a big salary cap hit. So, possibly saving a couple of mil via one trade and then a couple of more via another.
Of course, it could all be bogus.

espn trade machine says it cant work anyways. Not to mention wouldn't a deal that gets us a good big AND enough cap space to resign mcdyess be a little more attractive?

It'll work the Trade Machine hasn't been updated to account for us being under the cap.

    If this deal goes through...

    C: T. Chandler, ???
    PF: C. Villanueva, ???
    SF: T. Prince, A. Daye, W. Sharpe
    SG: R. Hamilton, B. Gordon, A. Afflalo
    PG: R. Stuckey, W. Bynum

then we've got some serious front-court depth issues...and little to no cap space.

That would be a perfect time to trade Rip for the front court help.

A third team may need to be involved to make this happen. I like adding Chandler if we give up Max and KB. I think the bench will be full of kids on cheap contracts. Remember we are rebuilding so the idea is to be competitive not challenge for a title at least not next year.

ESPN trade machine also says we still have AI, Amir, and Sheed on our team. It's not updated yet.

Let's it done. Then sign Gooden and/or wilcox to a 1 year deal. and maybe we could swing a 3 team trade Detroit, Houston & New York.

Detroit gets sign and trade for David Lee 7-8 Million, Houston's 1st round pick & Joey Dorsey

    Houston get Rip, Eddy Curry

New York gets Tracy Mcgrady, Pistons 2nd round pick

    We then Become

    Stuckey/Bynum
    Gorden/AA
    Prince/Daye/Summers/Jerebko
    Villanueva/Gooden or Wilcox/Dorsey
    Chandler/Lee

My thoughts exactly but we could still trade Rip for a couple of back-up caliber bigs and hopefully have enough cap space left to sign McDyess. Wishfull thinking I know.

After you dump rip for a big you start Afflalo more for defensive than offensive purposes like Denver does with Jones and bring Gordon off the bench.

My realistic Fantasy line-up (well almost)

    after signing;

    Stuckey
    Rip
    Prince
Villanueva (in my dreams he would not be here)
    Chandler

    Bench;
    Gordon
    AA
    Daye
    Bynum
Extra big = Dyess or whoever

Competitive; next year trade Rip or Tay + filler for Boozer/Bosh/Amare

Cry because we can't afford Joe Johnson.

    If CV wasn't signed

    Stuckey
    BG
    Prince
    Boozer
    Chandler

    Bench;
    Bynum
    AA
    Daye
    Dyess or whoever
    another long SF

I'm not sure if that works money wise, but if we had to spend on this year's FA class then i wish we had stopped at Gordon. In fact this line-up wouldn't have bothered me either.

    Stuck/Rip/Prince/Boozer/Chandler

OK OK I'm not picking on you lpgrl I swear. This kinda goes for everybody:

    Let Dice go.

He'll never win here. He's a premium character but let's move on and get younger. Unless he's like dying to stay here for whatever reason, let's looks forward.

I actually don't want Dyess, but couldn't think of any avaliable back-up that i liked better and we could aford. I suppose you can sub Gortat there, but i don't know if after that line-up how much money we'd have/MLE,etc.

I could sub in Sheed there if you want LOL

If Chandler has a relapse... then what?
The money for Dice was spent on the cap trade.
    Dalembert is a safer bet.
