I don't mean to needlessly open threads, if this discussion is already occurring anywhere, feel free to merge. Whispers are going all over the radio that Rip may be traded straight up for Boozer. I think this is a great deal for both teams. Hopefully there will be a link soon.
Is sign&trade with boozer involved or what? If not then more capp spayce for Dumars??? assuming, there is some truth in this rumor.
Sounds like a good deal for both teams. Utah tired of Boozer being hurt all the time, I'll bet, wouldn't mind parting ways with him. RIP gets the occasional groin pull, but definitely is a high-energy guy that I bet Sloan would like. Play Villanueva at the 3 and have Tay come off the bench.
Utah won't do it, They need cap relief, they are already about $4M over the Lux cap before they even square Millsap away. Utah wants a trade that will save them about $7-10 Million. Boozer for Maxiel is a whole lot more likely.
Utah has needed a shooting guard since forever. They're not wild about Boozer anymore, especially because they are almost sure to lose him next year. They want Millsap long-term over Boozer.
Money is their issue right now, they already KNOW they can be a solid ball club without Boozer, they didn't have him last year and had a decent season. As of right now they need cap relief more than a SG.
boozer would be about as good at center as dyess, wouldn't he? he'll be playing hard for a contract as well.
Or trade Tay for Chandler. Stuckey, Gordon, CV, Boozer, Chandler with Bynum, AA, Daye, Sharpe, Max, Kwame off the bench. Could be nice, but who would stop LeBrown?
Boozer would be better because he is really good in the post where as Dyess is more of a spot up shooter from short-mid range
That would be a reeeeeeeally interesting front court scenario, defensively. But that wouldn't matter as we'd have the offensive firepower of Jesus Christ. We'd be the 2007 Patriots.
Won't happen, New Orl, like Utah NEEDS cap help, if your trade doesn't do that, don't even dream it up.
Does Boozer require no less than three screens to get his shot off? What will the Pistons do with all of that extra shot-clock time on offensive possesions? ...Perhaps Tay will be able to make up for a potential loss of Rip by taking even MORE time to back his guy down and flip up one of those lefty half-hooks of his. ...Not to mention, GT's hands are way too small to play 48mpg.
