The rookie deal for a second rounder (minimum contract) is $427k for the season.

Mejia didn't even make it to the start of the season.

I think Flip is really out of touch with reality sometimes. How far is $50k going to go after taxes and the agent takes his cut?

    This drives me freaking loco...

Horrible move unless Dupree is to be used as an asset in a trade...

i don't understand what the big deal is. Mejia will go to some league regardless. Develop regardless. pistons could resign him next year or just grab another 2nd round pick. It's not like teams will be breaking down his door.

Because he has some game, and ability to drive and dish, and the ability to guard multiple positions, the ability to make free throws, and some upside. All things that Dupree lacks.

I love super Dupe but he's just too much of a tweener. He makes Jason Richardson look like Magic Johnson with his ball skills.

Yea, and we could probably also bring back Alex Acker, Will Blalock, and Ricky Paulding, if we wanted.

You'd have to throw in a big guy, say Andreas Glyniadakis, to solidify the core.

    Weird.

Maybe that's what Flip meant when he said that Mejia wouldn't have to look for a job.

Let's try to refrain from giving Saunders any credit. That simply will not be tolerated.

Flip gets no credit for Mejia signing with Mad Ants.
    Is this better?

Absolutely agreed. We'll have no part of giving Flip credit for ANYTHING.

Consider this your one and only warning TaShawn. ;)

You are definitely learning from Belicheat, sports number one passive aggressive.

I think you still have left it open for interpretation that Flip might not have been against the signing. Perhaps you should say something like, "Flip protested the decision, but Mejia was still signed with the Mad Ants."

Or maybe "Mejia signs with Mad Ants. Flip is allergic to ant bites. Go figure."

Joe finds another loophole. He keeps Mejia on the radar in exchange for a partial contract.

And he does it in spite of Flip's hate for Mejia. Flip can't do anything because he knows he'll get fired if he opens his mouth.
    :hoops:
