It seems to me that Mejia realized: 1. No NBA teams are interested in him right now or probably will be for the remainder of the year. 2. He could get more money in Europe 3. He can better develop his game in Europe 4. He would rather play in "a team want to win environment" rather than a "How many points can I score environment" Good luck to Sammy. I am sure some posters here will keep us updated on everything Sammy Mejia in Italy. Thanks in advance.
It's tough to break into the NBA mid-season as a young player. All the crappy teams want to develop their own youth. All the good teams are looking for cheap vet rentals. He's probably going to get paid in Europe too.
well if nothing else it will take one option off the table for us to speculate about for the rest of the year. Lee you have to take him out of our rotation now.... GRIN
Good for Sammy! Compare his career path to other guys right out of college, and a lucrative and fun job in europe is not bad at all...
Italy has seen better days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries, millenium. He could visit the Roman Catholic Pope and get a blessing, It couldn't hurt.
