TNT's inside the NBA is slowley becoming the "Charles Barkley Public Appology Hour" featuring Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson.

Not that big a deal. Now if his windows were illegally tinted, then it would be a scandal!

Proof that the last few years of him not getting PT in the NBA was a worldwide conspiracy!

    Come on Roscoe...

He ran a stop sign. What if he had ran into someone? He should no better and it is no excuse. He could have gotten a cab or a limo ride home very easily. Perhaps he should have called someone in his 5.... bada bing!!! LOL I bet D. Wade would have been happy to get a 1AM call from a drunk Barkley.

Also this is a guy who has stated he wants to run for public office one day in the near future. So this along with his history of other incidents seem to paint a picture.

    I was.

Although, I'm not going to take a holier than thou approach. I have done a lot of stupid things, including blowing a stop sign and driving impaired. I don't do those things anymore, but I have, so it's hard for me to call out the Round Mound of Rebound about it.

Thankfully no one was hurt, and a lot of people get a wakeup call from Barkley's mistakes made public. In an odd way, his getting caught, might save lives his fans may have taken with similar errors of judgment.

Doesn't surprise me at all. As Roscoe said, we all make mistakes but Sir Fat ass is a habitual idiot.

His basketball skill was unmatched for his size, however, his arrogance and personality is very annoying.

I had a buddy back in MI who was driving out in the country while impaired. He ended up launching his 20 foot long '77 oldsmobile about 50 yards out into a corn field when the road came to a "T". He didn't even have a chance to hit the breaks before going over the drop off. I picture it sort of like the scene from Vacation where their station wagon ends up in the desert.

Fittingly, the car had some nickname related to the Lions. The Fontesmobile or something like that. Can't remember the details.

It was a wake up call for him to say the least.

I'll never concede that it is safer for me to change lanes than the civilian behind me that is going 10 miles an hour faster. This is true.

Hopefully he didn't step out of the car and pee in the corn field.

You got a point there, but I think he is safe with the job (ratings), but he may make an quick apology, do a public service announcement and take a leave of absence for a week or two and come back as if nothing happen...

Goodbye Governership. He still would have a chance for public office in Det or Chi though.

It's strange that Chelios is older than Barkley.

Think about this. Chelios was drafted in 1981. Jimmy Carter had been out of office for 5 months at that point.

The Detroit Pistons set an NBA record by losing 21 consecutive games. They didn't have Laimbeer yet.

I dont understand why these men with money cannot get their stuff serviced without all of this drama. Obviously the money is not being put to good use. Why the drunk driving? Barkley looks horrible. There are hotels in the area, he could have stayed in the parking lot, a back room at the bar, etc. Why risk killing someone by driving drunk just to get your stuff serviced? Barkley probably has tinted windows. Why drive at all? Obviously not driving for a romantic spot somewhere. Barkley is an idiot.
