Sheed is going to replace Garnett. According to the Detroit News. Maybe since he has been resting lately, he will not be so pissed.

Congrats to Sheed and thanks to David Stern for recognizing Sheed's value.

We have 3 guys in the all star game.

I hope Sheed puts up big numbers, becomes game MVP and then smiles during the post game interview.

Congrats to Sheed. He deserves it. His fourth All-Star appearance, I believe.

I saw that article, then I checked around all the other bball websites such as ESPN and NBA.com but nothing mentioned there. All the reports I've seen just say 'Garnett is likely to not play', it doesn't seem to have been decided he won't play yet, let alone select a replacement.

But if Sheed does make it, well done.

NBA.com has Sheed listed on the roster and KG listed as injured.

it scrolled at the bottom the screen on of the ABC game. I am happy for Sheed, but just hope he and the other two don't get injured or cocky. Couldn't they have just replaced him with Marion?

I wonder how Sheed is reacting to this announcement. Sure, congratulations to him. But he's made it abundantly clear that he'd rather stay home and rest.

But alas, his buddy, David Stern, decides to screw up his time off plans by making him go to the All Star game. Does Sheed see this as respect from David Stern or a bullying tactic?

    Excellent observation.

I didn`t look at it that way, moreover, Al Jefferson would have been a good choice to replace Garnett. He is having a great year, arguably better than Sheed, however, it`s with the T-Wolves!

But alas Jefferson is in the west, so he would have been a good replacement if somebody out in the WC goes down before the game.

If sending someone to the All-Star game is a bullying tactic, I'd like to get bullied more. Going to the All-Star is a great honor. Sheed knows this no matter what he says to the media.

He actually is pissed though. There was an article where Nazr of all ppl was talking about how he knows he's not happy about it.

Doc Rivers will play CB/RIP/Sheed 40 min :)

Yea, I'm sure Nazr knows how Rasheed is feeling. Perhaps Sheed was saying he didn't want to go just to cover himself in case he wasn't selected.
