Tony Kornheiser of PTI, reads this Piston forum? Those were his exact same thoughts..:) if Sheed already had plans for a nice vaction with the family, then he should respectfully decline the offer to suit up in KG's place.

How bout this Stern conspiracy= The Celtics get a chance to rest their two of their over played superstars during the alstar break, but three of our starters play, get drunk and party all weekend on bourbon street. Result celtics in better shape physically to in late May......

I used to get some good hangovers back in my younger days, but that would have to be one wild party to have an impact 3 1/2 months later.

All I can say is remember "Pac Man" Jones?? He is still feeling the affect of last years All-star game one year later and he is not even in the NBA...:) if you recall there were a couple of players who were afraid to even go to nawlins thinking that civil disorder had not been restored yet...:sssh:

If anything it would be a favorable . Elect Sheed so they can talk about the 3 Pistons all-stars in the Finals.

If Rip, CB1, and Sheed were all invited to the 3-point contest, then I think we may have reason to be concerned.

How about Maxiell for the dunk contest? He could do that one dunk (the only one he has) where he tries to break the backboard.

I kind of agree with that theory. But in reality, the All-Star break is a physical breather for even those playing. Yeah, the have to attend all the A-S events, but probably none of them will play over 30 minutes over the course of 5 days.

To make the A-S game more interesting, I think the NBA should adopt the MLB All-Star stance of giving finals home-field-advantage to the A-S winning conference/league.

It's worth considering Dre. I was thinking we might have to put you on an endangered species list or something! :D

This reminds me of a "convo" (that's what my cute mother-in-law calls conversations when she is emailing) we were having in another thread about Maxiell. I think he would easily win the contest if he could manage to break a backboard. He doesn't even have to shatter it (since that's apparently next to impossible these days), just pull the whole friggin thing down!

He is a heck of a lot better coach this year thanks to Tom Thibodeau who is the architect of the Celtics defense.

Sorry I don't agree at all.

He is a better coach because of KG and R. Allen but a lot better coach because of Thibodeau.

The Celtics are winning without KG, because of their team defense.

Yes KG is a very good if not great defender, but one guy playing great defense isn't going to make you first in:

    1st in points allowed
1st in field goals percentage against
1st in 3 point point field goal percentage against.

Shaq was explosive as a Laker. I am so used to him being slow, but poweful.

If Drew does not return at full strength by the playoffs and Shaq can play 20 + minutes a game in the playoffs it seems to me that the Suns will beat the Lakers again this year if the two teams play because Gasol is a horrible defensive player.

He was the guy that was supposed to guard Nazmo last night when both were on the floor. Nazmo lit him up for 22 points and 11 rebounds.

So if Nazmo can light up Gasol can you imagine what Amare and Shaq will do to Paul and Odom. Same result for Suns vs Lakers in the playoffs as in previous years.

Pau is a great offensive player in the low post. He is a great scorer down low with a myriad of moves and is an excellent post passer. But his defense is woeful.
