New York Liberty vs. Detroit Shock - Recap - September 10, 2009 - ESPN

IF ive said it ONCE, I'll say it again:

Sports are a marathon, not a donut shoppe!

Very proud of this team. I decided to give them a mullett for all they've gone through this year and they still responded like the Champs they are.
It says a lot about our society when there are more people on the 'sidelines' to watch the winless Lions, than who come out to support a team that is the second best franchise in WNBA history.

    Go Shock!

Yep we need a winner in SE Michigan this year so I can continue to proudly wear my Michigan and Detroit sports gear out here on the west coast. We had one team make it to the finals this year, but [STRIKE]choked[/STRIKE], failed to bring home the trophy/cup. Detroit still can rival Pittsburgh as the city of champions, but need a victory this year from one of the teams.

Shock may be in the best position since they have clinched a PO spot and Tigers magic number is still 17.

2009 Red Wings NHL WC Champs

I love those ladies I really do, and HQ is right about the messages that we send as a society. We need to win against Chi on sat, I ain't trying to face Tameka Catchings and the Fever in the 1st rd.

And they did it all without Pierson and Smith and Laimbeer. I hope they go all the way again this year too.

The Shock seem to ready for a long playoff run....after being down by 41-22 at the half, the rallied to outscore the Chicago Sky, 33-11 in the third qtr and pulled away to a 80-69 win and secure the 3rd seed in the playoffs.

The Sky who's fans at half time were poised to celebrate their first trip to playoffs (a win over the Shock would have secured them the 4th spot) but now it appears that the Washington Mystics will get the 4th and final playoff spot facing the Fever in the first round.

The Shock will play the Atlanta Dream in the first round. Hopefully Katie's back spasm's have settled some and she at least dresses....we can save Pierson for the conference finals....

    Go Shock!!...u go gurlz

I kinda turned it off after the middle of the second quarter but I followed the score and was surprised to see that they mounted a come back. I kinda felt sorry for the Chicago ladies. Candice Dupree got a pretty face and hope she'll get on a better team because she deserves so much better than losing season after season.

I just love the heart this team has. They are a dangerous team in the PO. They can beat Atlanta on the road, but not sure about Indiana.

I know, with losing Swin, Sweet P being hurt, and picking up Taj, our on-court eye candy is almost non-existent these days, we used to lead the league in that, it's the extra perk one is entitled to inadditon to watching good fundamental basketball.

Oh come on, Becky's GOT to make it to the first team.

Besides, how can you leave out Pierson?

HQ has great taste in women, but leaving Pierson out is highly questionable.
