I watched all of the televised Shock games last year. There were about 3 of them televised on ABC before and the playoffs and I watched all of those games until they were robbed in the finals. .

I have never been to a womens pro or college game, but if the Shock play the LA Candice Sparkers at Staples on a weekend, I may check them out this summer.

Well, Laimbs and Horn are proud!

    SHOCK 85, COMETS 66

Katie Smith leads Shock in season opener

[IMG] Katie Smith scored 21 points and shot 5-for-10 from the three-point line as the Shock beat the Comets, 85-66, in the WNBA season opener at the Palace.

I watched this one....Parker was very impressive, almost scoring a triple double.

Only the second time a defending champion has lost the opening game of the season when receiving their rings. Each time the Sparks have done the trick spoiling the Shock's ring ceremony by beating them back 2004 after the Shocks 2003 champion victory over them.

If the Sparks and Shock get to the finals, I might even venture out to my first WNBA game here in LA this summer:sssh:

It hard to many games in the NBA,NCAA ro WNBA when you commit 23 turnovers??

I guess Katie Smith was nervous about going back to play in front of her old team's fans as she had six turnovers herself.:gun1:

Not a bad win there. Atlanta was high on a home opener for the first time in their history and had a 13 point lead into the half.

Shock came out with a lot more energy and soon the swing was made to end the game with a resounding win.

    3-1 so far.

Another win. 4-1 so far. Although it was superfulous, Hornbuckle hit a last split second halfcourt shot at the end of the game. Aside from the obvious differences in the game play versus the men, one thing that stuck out is how the gals artfully can use the glass in shot making due to their circumstances. Deanna is a lot of fun to watch. Next game: May 31st @ Indiana.
