Rip needs to stay at 2. I'm looking forward to watching Summers in action next season. With meaningful playing time hopefully Daye can be incorporated as well.
What about a small ball line up with Gordon Rip Tay Max Challie V It's not really all that small, in fact it's long. I think Max can bang with any 4 in the league for a good 15-20 minutes, and Charlie can play the 5 for a good 10 minutes a game, and come back with Bynum Stuckey Daye Wilcox Brown To bang for a while.
Prince handled Deng (abused him in fact) offensively with one Wallace behind him. Deng IMO is just overrated. I never got the hype.
Tayshaun: 13.2 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 3.3 APG Has not missed a single game the past five years. His numbers fell last season, but only because he played fewer minutes per game. Tayshaun’s assist/turnover ratio greatly improved last season. Prince has much greater shooting range than Deng. He has been a winner at every level. He has been All-Defensive (2nd team) the past four years. Luol: 17.0 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2.5 APG He is five years younger. Though his per game numbers fell, this was the result of playing fewer minutes per game. His per 36 minute averages remained almost exactly the same. His team was poorly coached and had no chemistry last year. Deng shoots at a much higher percentage than Tayshaun Prince. Deng’s PER is much higher, while Tayshaun is just average (around 15). In 14 head to head games, each player’s team won 7. Deng, perhaps underrated defensively, has held Prince to 37% shooting. He has drawn two fouls per game from Prince, who normally only fouls about once a game. All evidence points to Deng being underrated, and Prince being supported by some reputation that he has never earned. Tayshaun Prince vs. Luol Deng | NBA Gauntlet
All i need to see to make my decision is the PO's Pistons vs Bulls. Deng got worked in the post by Prince and wilted. He also disappeared in the clutch. I really don't care about the regular season. For all the grief Prince gets about his clutch meltdowns at least he wait until the ECF
Eh, they're about the same in style of play and production. Deng's got a lot more talent than Prince, but I think he's ever softer. I don't think either are championship quality SF's.
2004 was a long time ago and how many minutes did Prince even play on the Olympic team? His biggest role on that team was probably carrying the other guys luggage.
True dat. Everyone seems to forget his clutch performances in the first 2 rounds. If you don't get past those, you don't get to the conference finals.
For me...the question is not wether Ben is good or not...The question is "will he fit in with the players we have?" Will he become the 2009 version of Billups and show up to set the tone for the whole team? or will he show up like AI and ........................
Every single one of the starters gave up. Not to pardon Tayshaun though; I want all of their asses out of here.
I feel you. Once Prince and Hamilton are gone (and hopefully sooner rather than later) we can finally move on from the old era and onto the next.
