And that was why we were a sub.500 team last season. When Rip is your best player and Tayshaun is your second best player, you're in trouble.
People were saying that AI was better than Rip when he came here last year. Turns out he's not. Or at least if he is, no GM in the NBA agrees. We will see with Gordon. I hope that he proves to be a stud here, but he's not going to change his defensive habits overnight.
What da ya think Joe is telling the prospective GMs when they come calling about AI. I mean...after all...nobody has picked the guy up. Joe must be giving a fairly sinister description of the situation.
hell yeah show ben gordon some love............its out of the topic what abou CV does he deserves some love?
Here were our 2 choices Arron Afflalo/ Ben Gordon 2010: $1.1M/ $10.0M 2011: ------/ $10.8M 2012: ------/ $11.6M 2013: ------/ $12.4M 2014: ------/ $13.2M Total: $1.1M/ $58.0M The Nuggs exercised Afflalo's 4th year option after they got him. With the 1st place Nuggets, Afflalo has started in 31 games and has played > 950 minutes. With the last place Pistons, Gordon has started in 14 games and has played about 800 minutes. Per36 Stat: AA/BG Pts: 12.0/ 19.1 Reb: 4.0/ 2.4 Ast: 2.4/ 3.3 Stl: 0.9/ 0.9 Blk: 0.6/ .01 Tov: 1.4/ 2.1 eFG: .545/ .485 3P%: .417/ .321 Defense? No question is in Afflalo's favor. With all of this data, it's not entirely clear that Ben Gordon is the better player. He shoots more, but it's less efficient. Many of Afflalo's advantages are due to size (rebounds, blocks, defense). I think we had ourselves a perfect backup SG with a great work ethic and attitude and the money burned a hole in JD's pocket. If he didn't work out for us, then oh well, just let him expire. Now I got nothing against Ben Gordon. He's doing what he does, with some hiccups due to injuries. He could have got $8M+ from another team if we didnt' sign him, so he clearly has market value. I'm just shocked that conservative Joe painted us into a corner.
TaS, the main difference between Bengo and afflalo is that Bengo can own games but afflalo is good niche player. afflalo plays his best now and most probably it remains his best ( once Carmello returns, cut afflalo touches by half) We have not seen the best of Bengo yet.
AA has been playing with Carmello in the line-up. I think what Tas is saying is that if we were going to keep Rip and needed a back-up; we had him.
Agreed but it may be once in lifetime chance to take potential game changer and Dumars did it. Time will tell whether risk is justified or not.
Ben will be fine when Rip either leaves or gets over himself. Rip is taking 20 shots a game, Bengo is taking about 12. IMO, these guys are being way too polite to Rip and giving him TOO much respect to the point where it's clearly hurting the team. Like I said in an earlier thread, I'm convinced Stuckey has began to turn the corner in this Revolution.

(laughing too hard to respond coherently...) (laughing too hard to respond coherently...) Whew. Almost had a little accident there. Rip getting over himself, wow. Even with the best modern medicine has to offer, I don't think I'll live that long.
