Did roscoe & jammer buy it? Canadian firm submits winning bid of $583,000 for Silverdome | freep.com | Detroit Free Press
Soccer???? Really? These guy's must don't have anyhting else to do with their money. The Silverdome is too big and outdated to try to keep it as a venue for sports. Those revolving entry doors are a death trap waiting to happen. How long before the Sliverdome is back on the market?
I can't confirm anything at this time until everything is finalized, but there's a strong possibility that you'll be driving by the Roscoe Jammerdome sometime soon.
$583K???? Wouldn't one Kid Rock concert pay that back in full? I'd just tear the roof off and knock out the revolving doors. Summer only venue or college football stadium.
I read a comment that said, "I think this is just a ruse to use the Silverdome as another Canadian land fill. So how long before someone notices the Silverdome is filled with garbage to the top?"
I know times are tough back there my fellow Michiganders but if the Silverdome with 80,000 seats is going for only $583,000, how much for 5 bedroom? $583??
Pontiac must be kicking themselves...pretty sure they were offered $20M not many years ago, plus they wouldn't have spent that $1.5M/year in upkeep. Meanwhile, city employees have been stripping the place Former employee: Silverdome being stripped of goods - The Oakland Press News
I guess everyone figured I was talking about a five bedroom home... so my questions should have been what are homes going for in the Pontiac Silverdome neighborhood? Also were the private boxes updated with Flat Screen HD TV's or are the looters taking the old CRT TV's?
Silverdome sale price disappoints | detnews.com | The Detroit News Cost = $56M Deal last year that fell through = $20M Finally selling price = $0.583M This is truly pathetic. If you held 1 event there and sold it out at $7.26 per ticket, you'd get your purchase price back... not counting concessions, parking, or keeping the lights on, security, etc. Property taxes are negotiable/appealable and you would have a great case for lowering the tax base with the newly discovered value of the real estate. This is enough of a steal that I think it will get blocked. There are probably plenty of buyers out there that would have taken it for more if they knew that it would actually trade. But anyone thinking about attending this auction knew that $20M was the price a year ago and probably figured that the winning bid would be $10M or more... so they didn't bother.
At least it won't be sitting around eating up 1.5 million per year. I hope the sale goes through and the Silverdome comes back to life. I have spent a lot of time in the Silverdome during the winter months. I'm hoping they might open it up to the public again.
I can't comment on that due to pending legal action. All I can say is that I had the granite countertop with me when I came in.
It's time to bring back Bigfoot and Monster Truck racing to the greater Detroit area. and the flame throwing robot! @TaS, this is the crack up boom. Great time to be liquid.
How about changing the luxury boxes into small apts and moving the semi homeless in there? Take out the astro turf and give them all small parcel on the field to grow their fruits and veggies on... Ok I am stretching it here...
