According to Detroit media he's expected to sign for another year to play in an even more reduced role.

Awesome. I'm really pumped about his reduced role!
Hunter is always a good guy to have in the locker room.
It's tough for a guy his age to keep up with all the young ones on the team. I hope his wife is keeping her purse well stocked.
I want lindsay to go away
I second that. The guy is taking up roster space and salary for someone who could help our team. He needs to take his assistant coaching gig with the team and the 600K that goes with that instead of trying to hang on with this so called "reduce role". Lindsey sure is not taking a reduced salary for this role if he was signing for the vet minium I would be less upset, but they give him atleast 2.2 million a season for this "reduced role."
I get the feeling that Dumars is trying to end it on good terms, on Hunters terms but Hunter does not want to go away.
Aw c'mon guys, you don't think he helped the team last year?
The defense is still there.
You had to be cheering when he just picked the ball clean against the Celtics and ran with it.
As long as he's not hindering any progress from Stuck, he's ok over there on the list.
You guys really think that whoever replaces Hunter on the roster will get us over the top?
Hunter had some moments against Boston. Then again Walther Hermann had some hyperkynetic moments in the regular season against Dirk, and I don't see the Pistons rushing out to sign him.
Lindsey is no longer an NBA caliber player. He can do well in brief spurts on defense when the refs allow him to maul his player. But then after his quick 3 steals, the refs realize what's going on, Lindsey gets 3 quick fouls, misses 3 quick 3's, and he's gone in 3 quick minutes. What possible good could LIndsey doe for this team next year?
LH will still be playing in a "reduced role" in 2012 . . .
Agreed. Plus, it has felt and sounded like the last couple years Joe has been asking Linds to come back. He was ready to retire before he came back to the Pistons a couple years back.
I've loved Linz for a long time but it's time for him to hang em up.
I think lindsay hurts the team because he is so close to dumars. even though i am happy that flip is gone, he was in a no win situation. He had curry, hunter, sheed and probably a couple of other players that are close to dumars. lindsay need to go to another team as an assistant and come back to detroit when the majority of the players on the team are players he did not play with. Linday is unnecessary baggage......if joe cannot find any guard on the team that is better that lindsay, we are in trouble.
We currently have four guards who are clearly better than Lindsey: CB, Rip, Stuckey, and Spellcheck, and all but Rip can play the point. Joe just signed Will Bynum, another PG. I can't think of any reason for Lindsey to be taking up a roster spot again this year.
As long as Hunter is active, somebody like Bynum and Aflollo will continue to get more pine blisters than they deserve. Hunter will be 38 in December and will be about as effective as Nancy Lieberman was last night...however the way Joe is running things around the palace these days we have to assume that at least one or two of those current starters will still be coming off the bench 5-6 years from now just like Hunter because Joe couldn't depart with them...
Joe time to tell Hunter to hang them up and add him as the extra coach...
Say bye to Lindsey and give his minutes to Afflalo....all of em...
Hunter played all of 27 games at an average of 9 mpg last regular season. Afflalo played 75 at 13 mpg - in his rookie year. I like Afflalo and am looking forward to seeing grow and all, but if you think LINDSAY has been stealing his minutes, sit back and relax, because you're going to enjoy the next season.
Hunter should stay on the active roster so Michael Curry has an old vet who will be able to play with the second unit in practice and stay in their ears during games on the bench. I think we should keep him over the likes of Walter Hermann. That dude just looks too ridiculous to be on our team.
You're just jealous that Fabio is more Bret Michaels than you!
