Phil should make a National Apology Tour of all the talk shows, like Dog the Bounty Hunter did.

    I didn't see the movie.

Did it portray the people in question in a good, bad or real light (neither positive or negative light relative to the subject at hand, but just that it is reality).?

    Thanks

If anyone saw it they probably won't admit it.

Jay Leno's done 100's of Brokeback jokes on national TV. Why does one comment from Jackson rate so much attention?

I saw Phil's interview last night and I also saw the movie last year on HBO or something. (No I did't pay to see it either) I know what Phil meant and the reporters did laugh, but since this movies subject matter was tender, not sure why it's such a big deal?? Leno, Letterman, and Kimmel had a field day making references to the movie in 2005 and never apologized to anyone.

If you saw the movie "Good Luck Chuck" with Dane Cook and Jessica Alba, there was a lot of penetration in that one too , but I bet if he had referenced that movie or any other with alot-you-no-what the conventional way:sssh:, the comments would have passed without anybody saying anything.

He has already apologized in the media on TV and I kid you not he said and I am paraphrasing it a bit.

If I offended anyone I am sorry and I apologize to any horses, children, cowboys or gays that I may have offended.

I went and saw the movie. Went with the wife. I was hoping to see some Wyoming scenery in the movie, since the story was based out of Wyoming in a town called Riverton. Found out the movie was actually filmed in Canada in a province called Alberta. Didn't like the story since I couldn't relate to their emotional pain. I'm surprised that Jackson would make such a comment. I would expect such humor on late night Tv and it doesn't bother me there. Made my wife buy me dinner for taking me to that movie. Jackson probably needs to have a higher level of sensitivity in his public position.............

Alberta is beautiful! :) Lived there for 3 years. Half of my family has moved there.

Didn't see the movie, but I regularly recommend use of homo-eroticism in creative works to my artist friends as a way to procure Government of Canada Arts Grants. The Feds seem to really like paying for that stuff with taxpayer dollars. :gun1:

Roscoe, I loaned you that movie 3 months ago. Do you mean to tell me you still haven't watched it? I keep telling you I want it back. Don't wear out my CD! :pound:

Tater, the movie you loaned me in a Brokeback Mountain case was labelled, "Darth does Dallas (Amateur video)".

I put it on, and all I could hear was people howling,

    "Don't Tater me Bro!"

Good point about the Leno, Letterman jokes and why that isn't seen the same way. Pro sports are seen as pretty homophobic. No male team player has ever acknowledged his homosexuality publicly while still playing. Maybe that's why this is such a touchy issue.

    Jackson is an azz anyway.

brokeback has entered american culture. one day people who have never seen the film will be teasing each other about doing it "brokeback style"... i suppose that day was yesterday.

It seems to me that Napoleon was sending a subtle message to the gays in the NBA.

Stay in the closet, at least for now. Why, because it would in his opinion be negative for the league. Maybe the mainstream media is not as open minded when it comes to some of our star athletes as it wants people to believe.

    :hoops:
