OSU vs. MSU An Ohio State loss doesn't bode well for Michigan State. The Buckeyes are gonna be pissed. 'Course, the Spartans have had plenty of time to appear. Everyone on that Spartan defense should be thinking about Teddy Ginn Jr. 24/7. Can the Spartans win six in a row and wrap up the Big Ten title? I'd be surprised -- pleasantly.
It probably won't happen. Not because they aren't capable...just because they are the Sparties. Sigh. Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota, etc. I just don't see it either. Too many 's in the road. But hopefully they still have a great year. Go Spartans!!!!
Don't feel bad Gazoo. We all do it. I spelled Trammell's name wrong in the heading of a new thread I started once. It's like..."where the did the edit button go"???????
MSU vs. OSU. Tough one to call. Great offense of the Spartans vs. great defense of the buckeyes. MSU's lousy defense vs. OSU's lousy offense. I see OSU slowing Sparty down but not stopping them. OSU will score a few but wind up just short. MSU....28 OSU...27 (wishful thinking perhaps?) Penn State... 26 U of M... 24 (could go either way, but Penn looks awfully good) Notre Dame...30 USC... 28 (I'm reaching here, lol)
tater MSU vs OSU Here's an article with stats that show just how interesting this game will be: http://www.detnews.com/2005/msu/0510/14/D01-348303.htm The three games you predicted are ALL gonna be great! (And BTW...I concur on your results )
Great football weekend All the games on TV in Conn. too. An MSU win coupled with a UM win puts the Spartans in the driver's seat, right?
MSU plays Penn in the last game so if MSU keeps winning they have it, regardless of what anyone else does. I believe Penn, Wisconsin and MSU all still control their own destiny.
Yeah. They played hard. But great teams find a way to overcome adversity and win tough games. Obviously, MSU is lacking in that regard. They aren't sitting pretty because they don't deserve to be.
Michigan State Not sure what happened on that field goal thing. I was in the kitchen and then came back and saw they were trying a field goal on THIRD down. I'm not sure everyone was on the same page. I really don't think OSU played all that well. OSU has a way of finding a way to win even if it isn't pretty. I hate the Buckeyes.
As you know, the coaches botched that one. The details are here: http://www.detnews.com/2005/msu/0510/16/C01-350321.htm It killed State's momentum and woke up the Buckeyes. The writing was on the wall after that happened, but still I think a really good team overcomes that and wins the game somehow. They still had a whole half to play. I'm not knocking them. They have a good team, a great quarterback, and they play hard. Hopefully they bounce back and get something better than the motor city bowl. I know the odds are slim, but there is some lousy bowl they play near me at Boise State University's blue field...maybe if I'm lucky...
Northwestern It's kinda difficult to get excited about a Spartan football game after two heartbreaking losses/chokes...whatever. But I gotta stick with them. Northwestern and MSU both have great offenses and crap defenses. MSU averages 41.8 in scoring Northwestern 35.2 MSU gives up 25.3 Northwestern gives up 35.7 Game is in East Lansing Final MSU 56 (notice no made field goals here) Northwestern 42
OK, it's been a terribly disappointing season for Spartan fans (especially in light of U of M's success :p...uggh...wtg guys ***chokes on words**). Some bad kicking and bad coaching in a couple of games and that was the beginning of the end for the Sparty's. But...I feel an upset in the making for this Saturday. They are playing a top team and a bowl birth (in Boise, Idaho??????) is on the line. I have no idea on the score but Sparty will prevail. U of M is gonna knock off OSU too. That means U of M wins the Big Ten title outright with a Penn State loss). You're welcome (in advance). Yep, I know. I'm gonna look like on Saturday evening when I missed everything. But it's not like it's the first time!!
