yes they are!! with everyone spoiling each other's season (and national championship hopes) in the Big 10, it's only fitting that MSU takes its turn doing the same. GO SPARTY!!

    Bad day for Michigan teams

And it's about to get worse. MSU hoops down 21 to Hawaii with about 2 minutes to go.

Although I am a Buckeye thru and thru, I can't wait to see the how the Spartans do this year. They are my adopted second favorite team now that they hired ex-OSU coach Dantonio. I really think they are heading in the right direction. I think they will learn how to play good, sound, fundamental football under Dantonio. I am going to follow them more closely this year and will be rooting for them to knock off that other team in the state. I do think the grass is getting a little greener as we speak! :stirthepot:

So... if the Wolverines would have hired Dantonio, then they would be your 2nd favorite team?

That's funny you should ask that cause I almost also typed that I would NEVER be happy if he had gone to UM, but I was in a hurry, so I didn't. That's probably why I am getting excited for the Spartans because it is the antiUM. My favorite teams are OSU and anyone else playing UM. When the Big Ten schools are in bowl games, I root for all of them except for UM.

My sentiments, exactly. Can we kick UM out of the conference to make the Big 10 only ten again? :stirthepot:

If anybody should leave, it should be Northwestern.

I agree with ggazoo. Northwestern should be the one to go. Even though I greatly dislike UM (don't hate the people though-some people take this stuff way too seriously), I love playing them and am glad we have such a great rivalry. Especially now since they are the ones with Cooper. :pound: :pound:

Of course, the guys I work with are BSU nuts, but there is a guy who is a U of M freak who flew in for the game. This Tuesday could be fun!

As I write, UM is down 31-26 and just gave up the ball. I'm not sure what's more amazing: The fact that UM has given up 31 points to a team in Division I AA or that UM's AD hasn't realized what a poor coach Lloyd Carr is. Oh sure, Lloyd has his supporters. People will talk about his great overall winning percentage and how UM goes to a bowl game every season (and loses). Hopefully, this embarrassing game (win or lose) will be enough to sound the alarm in the AD office at UM. Lloyd stinks. His teams consistently underachieve. It's sad to think how much UM could have accomplished over the years with a different coach.

I left to go watch my kids soccer game at the half with the score tied. I held my breath while checking the score.

Whew. Good to see they won. Looks like they blew a lot of opportunities. Bowling Green is a decent team but a team we should beat.

Glad we didn't blow it. I wasn't looking forward to hearing the Blue fans laugh at us after last week.

Plus at work college football is a big thing (BSU is all they have), so I gotta defend the Green's honor.

I really like to Root for MSU. Loved their team in 1984 when they won the Big Ten. Here's hoping they have a good season for their new coach.
