The Pistons should hire Datome to write their press releases. I always liked this guy!

He should have told smith to quit chucking threes at a 25% rate.

Adios, Sheed. It's a new day for the Pistons and Van Gundy is ready to sweep away the old regime. Next on his hit list:

    Arnie Kander
    George Blaha
    Hooper

Not happy about letting Rasheed go. Andre Drummond showed tremendous improvement over last year. The growth of our big man was one of the only highlights of the season.

Didn't Sheed work out with these guys all summer? He seemed like a worker or someone who gave a crap to me.

At least we got grandpa Malone back. Why not prop up Chuck Daly's corpse on the bench if they wanted experience?

Kieth Langolis will stay after he writes an article saying: people around the internet say that Stan bears a resemblance to a pop icon but that's only because he's been successful around the league for so long.

I like Sheed, but with our bigs having a subpar year when they were on the floor together, I am not sure what positive affect he had on big other than Dre. He definitely had no control over Josh....unless he was the one encouraging him to take all of those threes.

My hope is that we could use Sheed in a role similar to Hakeem's with Houston. He doesn't have to be an assistant coach to do that. Just bring him on board to work with Dre.

The jersey rooters are reminding me of all the people who thought the Pistons were going to be better off when they replaced Sheed the player with the young double-double machine (17 and 10!) by the name of Charlie Villanueava. How'd that work out?

sheed had no credibility to lecture anyone about shot selection.

I'm okay with SVG not keeping Sheed. SVG said during the press conference that he will only hire people who buys into his system 100%.

I'm not going to bash a great coach like SVG before he've had the chance to show his work.

Sheed was a winner for the most part. Put the practice in.

Yeah, SVG has seen his share of team subversion. I didn't realize those Magic teams we owned were 50-60 game winners.
SVG might get us to the second rnd but he will need some seasoning there and a second contract.

I'm sure there are literally hundreds of coaches that would make better NBA assistants than Sheed.
