Just want to point something out.

Chauncey Billups has the highest FG% in the paint of any player on the Pistons with .591.

2nd is McDyess with .577 and 3rd is Rip with .570.

Chauncey got blocked on 9% of those attempts. Rip got blocked on 16%. For perspective, Maxiell shot .432 in the paint on got blocked on 20% of his attempts.

Also, 75% of Chauncey's scoring in the paint is un-assisted.

And he draws an extemely high percentage of fouls when he gets in the paint because he is shmart.

agreed my only complaint with him and his drives is when he winds the shot clock down to nothing then drives without thought against 2 or 3 people in the paint like he's kobe..

but for the most part him going to the drive is a good thing.

Chauncey Billups of the Detroit Pistons, NBA player stats and data from 82games.com

I don't mean to be argumentative, but he seems to have a pretty good shot distribution accross the shot clock.

Since he's a PG, he should not shoot too quickly. However, when he does shoot quickly, he shoots his highest percentage, so I guess he backs it up.

Only 14% of his attempts occur from 20 to 24 seconds... and 43% of those are off assists from other guys. So he only creates his own shot late in the clock on 8% of his attempts.

CB certainly can use that strength when he is being shoved out toward the mid-circle. Rip's speed is to curl, because Sheed doesn't like to move toward the basket as this causes too much traffic around the basket. Tay hasn't figured out yet that when he turns his back to the basket in the 20 ft range; besides it limits his rebounding stats and he doesn't like to shoot foul shots.

Weren't the Pistons looking at picking up Haywood for a while this offseason? He's playing out of his mind right now for Washington.

Maybe that is because everyone else include Captain "Knee Drain" is playing like Sisters of Mercy JV squad.

Hold on a minute. I didn't know that Sister's of Mercy had a JV squad?

    Exactly!!!

The Wiz have been playing like they are non-existent, especially on defense.

    So what else is new?

    :hoops:

Poor defense makes his performance even more impressive, because there are less defensive rebounds to be had. He's averaging over 13 rebs/ game and is in the top 5 in blocks. He's also showing some offense.

Etan Thomas's injury has given him more minutes.

We're OK without him, but if we had him, I'd start him at C.

    Billups/Stuckey/ Hunter
    Rip/Murray/Afflalo
    Tay/ Hayes/ Johnson
    Sheed/ Maxiell/ Johnson
    Haywood/ Dyess/ Samb

I think we'll be OK as it is especially since Washington is not going to deal Haywood away.
